No. Technically aluminum conducts better, not that you would notice the difference.

Thanks I was reading a review and someone posted that the brass one was better. I like the look of the silver better anyways...you still enjoying it? And do you have any good experiences buying from Gearbest? Never used them only 3fvape as far as China vendors go... I didn't see any here in the U.S.

Well, theirs wouldn't have been "better" because of the material conductivity, perhaps some contact issue or something else. Brass weighs about 3x more per volume, so if you want to carry it round... I have two aluminum, one mod and one kit, both from fasttech. Gearbest has been good to me too. Just do yourself a favor order from "in stock."

With the CVs the surfaces where the top and bottom sections come together is part of the negative connection. It needs to be clean or the mod won't fire right. The aluminum oxide that forms on the "silver" ones makes them more finicky than the brass. Clean it when you refill the bottle, make sure no liquid gets on the surfaces, and you're good.

I purchased a silver one from Gearbest. It took me a few days to get used to the fire button in that I wasn't always pressing it the same based on whether I was using my index finger or my thumb. (I like to switch position and I also switch right handed and left handed so I think that had some bearing on my experience.) After using it for a few weeks, I must say that I like it quite a bit and it is often the setup that I take with me and use when driving.
I am using it with the No Toy with zero problems or issues. I like the fact that there is a large reservoir for the ejuice and there have been no leaking or misfiring issues. I really can't think of any faults at this point.

I have an SS, and I'm using it with an Origin little 16 clone, with a beauty ring. It works great. My only niggle with these is that there is no protection from shorts. Just be sure of your attie after a rebuild before putting it on the CV.

Yeah... The CV is a Pure Mech.

Checking your Builds (with the RDA Cover On for Tight Builds) on a Regulated Mod or a Ohm Check Stand is a Must.

This would be my first mech.. been Vaping for 3 years, building on RDAs and RTAs for over 2 years on regulated mods.... was looking to try squonking, and also wanted to try out a mech as well. Looks like I can get to do both with of this mod..
Just wanted to make sure that it is well built and dependable...

I think I saw that you had the NaRda on yours in a previous post.. is that the original? Or a clone one? I have the clone but I don't have a squonk pin. Where did you get yours?

This device wouldn't be the type of mechanical that anyone should cut their teeth on. You should go for something that has some protection built into it like a hot spring or something similar. If you don't know what your doing with a mechanical like this you could easily screw up and hurt yourself, especially if you've never used a mechanical before!!

I think the CV is Very Well Built. And I like that you can get Spare Parts for it.

I've been using 1 of my 3 CV daily for Months. Haven't had any real issues with it whatsoever.

Just Keep things Clean. And about ever 4 or 5 weeks or so take the Black Fire Button off and wipe the shaft with a Small amount of Thin Oil.

I, like you, started squonking after a couple of years building RTAs for regulated mods. As great as the CV is I have to agree with @muzichead. The CV is not a very good choice for starting squonking on mechs with. I would go for a Reo because the hot spring protects you in case your atty shorts for whatever reason (building error, or even dropping your mod and/or atty). While Reos are more expensive, they are also made to last, and they frequently show up in the classies at affordable prices (that's how I got my 3 Reos).

Once you start squonking you can kiss your old gear goodbye. You'll be hooked! I have very good gear that is now collecting dust or have been handed over to my wife. I'm talking Provaris and SX minis and Semovars and several Unicorns that I've had along the way.

Enjoy the trip [emoji2]

I would go with a Pico Squeeze for the value and safety built in.
When one is comfortable and attained the knowledge then move on to a pure mechanical mod. My :2c: :pop:

Not a bad call northhar.

Was thinking about picking up one of these mods. Sry have not read all the thread.. but I have one question. Not a fan of the brass color on the mod, Is there a realy noticeable difference in its performance? Thanks.
It's not brass "color" it's actual brass.

But they make 2 aluminum versions, clear coated and painted black.

You could remove the clear coat and force a patina on the brass. Then clear coat that.

Or strip the aluminum and ink it.

Thats common sense to use an ohm meter , if you dont you should not be even using a mech , as your would clearly not safe in what your doing,
Should be no guess working using any type of mech , always use an ohm meter , not a reg device either they all vary too , use a proper ohm meter ,

Yeah common sense, but, failing to take that last step of checking again after installing the cap on the atty, before putting it on the CV can cost you. I failed to do that once, and fortunately it was on a Reos, so the spring saved me. Forgetting that last step can happen. With the small 16mm atties, it is crucial to snip those wire ends as short as you can possibly get them.

It is such a Simple Step, but one that I think a Lot of People don't do. And something I have Not seen many Reviewers Mention.

With the advent of Larger and more complex Multi-Wire Coils, designers have pushed the envelope to make Decks that can except Bigger and Bigger Coils. But that meant that Posts in many cases got Closer and Closer to the Edge of the RDA/Atomizer.

Thank you for mentioning Checking with the RDA Cover On oplholik. Because that might be the Difference between a Run-of-the-Mill Day. And a Really Bad Day.

I am going to be retiring my CV soon because of the lack of protection that I feel I need, especially as I'm getting older, and sometimes not as aware of things as I used to be. I really like this mod, but at the same time, have never really been that comfortable using it. I have another mech coming that has a fuse in the top, and is the contact for the 510 atty. My only other mech is a Silver Bullet that has a hot spring in it.

Sorry to hear about Retiring your CV.

But I am a Big Believer if a person is not comfortable about doing something, and there are Similar or Better options for them, then why do something that makes you Uncomfortable?
