First off thank you for reading my thread.

I am having an issue with the dual coil cartomizers from smoktek. What I usually do is add a couple drops at a time into the cartomizer while adjusting in about a quarter each time I add a drop into the carto. I am trying to fully saturate the poly inside the carto, I will usually do this until I notice any liquid coming out of the bottom of the carto. Then I will push the carto into the lockable smoketek tank just before it hits the top of the tank I put in my needle tip and fill the tank up. Then push the carto all the way up and lock it... It works flawless for the most part but I do notice that certain juices tend to give off slightly dry vapor after a good hour or so of vaping. I find myself adding more liquid to the carto itself and it will still leak out the bottom as if its full but I notice that the dry vapor momentarily goes away.

I seen a video saying that if you dont pull hard enough the poly can dry up and if you pull to hard then you can flood the carto. It just seems like a bit of a hassle using these cartos if that is the case. Am I filling these correctly? Have any of you ran into these problems with DCT's

Yes, I have all kinds of problems with these DCT carts. Flooding is a huge issues, as well as the dry hits and having to top the cart off with juice. I have watched just about every u tube video on how to fill these things and still have problems. Not to mention how many times I filled one just for it to have a burnt taste and it has to be thrown away.

I've used single hole, double and triple holed carts and the single seem to work the best. The other ones always end up flooding. When I do get the DCT tank system to work properly its a wonderful vape. However, I am sick and tired of all the fiddling around and not always getting a good vape. Because of all the problems I have switched over to using a Vmod bottom feeder. I love it and get a good consistant vape each puff and theres no fiddling around and most of all not once has this Vmod leaked or flooded.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I have had only a few problems ever with carto tanks.
I do not care for the smok dct's much. I am currently using mostly AGR tanks and a couple Tripple V's.

With the AGR, I just fill the carto.
Remove the driptip.
Remove the tiny fill screw on the top cap.
Insert the needle from my bottle of juice, and fill.
Put the driptip back on.
Put the fill screw back on.
Blow through the driptip onto a paper towel.
Screw it onto the adaptor that comes with it.

As long as I always blow out the carto, I have no flooding.
I havent found many performance issues with Boge or smok cartos. And I have some that I have slotted myself. They have all worked well.

This is the AGR tank.

I hope you find what works best for you.:)

Not a fan of the dual coil cartos. I often had the same issues as the original poster until I switched over to the single coils. Perhaps try your luck with a single coil. They fit in a tank just as easy.

I have a theory that since dual coils are one on top of the other vertically, that over some time in use the upper heating coil doesn't get enough juice and ends up burning the material around it, resulting in some dryness or burnt taste.

You can prep the carto correctly all you want, but with the suction action pulling the juice from the upper polyfill down to the bottom coil area, that leaves the upper part and the top coil dry and resulting in burning the material around it. Perhaps the below diagram will better illustrate my point:

The diagram is of a single coil cartomizer, but imagine the carto having another coil about midway up the cartomizer. Juice being pulled down in the carto will result in the upper polyfill becoming dry and allowing the upper coil to burn too hot and without juice, causing the surrounding filler to burn.

If there was a pratical way to keep the upper polyfill wet, I theorize that this wouldn't happen. Punching a hole mid-way in the carto might work to allow more liquid to get to the poly, but you don't really know exactly where the upper coil is - you wouldn't want to damage it from punching on or near it. And as your juice level drops in the tank, a hole that high will suck in air instead of juice.
