Been reading up on a lot of cart mods, and haven't found anything that has particularly worked well for me. I was getting so frustrated with short smoking time, and always adding fluid.
Then I got to thinking, I haven't seen anyone mention cotton, but I have seen mention of wool.
Cotton balls wick very well, and usually don't drip unless they are really saturated.
So, I cut a coffee straw about 5/8" long. Cut an angle on the bottom like the regular straw mod.
Place the straw in the center, then filled the cart. I took some cotton from a cotton ball and loosely packed it into the end. Tight enough so the fluid doesn't drip, but loose enough so it wicks..
It's like night and day. Wicks well, a lot more vapor, no leaks so far, and it appears to empty out the cart really well.
I also tried stuffing a cart with nothing but cotton. It doesn't appear to work quite as well as the straw, but it still works a whole lot better than the poly fill does.
Also, when it starts to dry out (after a lot more drags than the poly) you don't get that nasty burnt taste.
Anyone else tried cotton? Just surprised even with searching I haven't seen mention of cotton. Closest thing I've seen is using regular cigarette filters.
