Well... It's cotton.
I went to a B&M to pick up some Ni200 wire for my incoming TC mod. They ended up giving me a bunch of the wire for free so I said I had to buy something... So I thought I would buy some cotton, 'Specifically formulated for vaping.' The package came out to $6.40 which is almost double what I pay for my organic cotton balls.
Within the package is 10 strips of cotton. It's apparently 100% U.S. Cotton taken through a 'proprietary purification process' within a clean room environment.
The dosage recommendations on the back say to use 1/4 of on strip, making for 40 servings. However, with my 3mm ID coils, I split 1 strip in half, then split that half in half again and used 2/3 of that quarter strip for my dual coils. Thus, I should be able to get at most 60 rewicks with this package for dual coil and 120 for single coil. That's actually pretty good. I'm surprised. Using 1/4 of 1 normal strip is way too much cotton.
This is the amount I used:
From left to right: Full Strip - Half Strip - Quarter Strip - 1/3 of 1/4 strip (perfect for one coil with 3mm ID if you trim a little)
I used it in my Magma with dual coils, 28g, 8 wraps on a 3mm ID for 0.9 Ohms. I do feel that this had considerably less break-in time than my normal organic cotton balls. However, once broken in the flavor seems to be exactly the same.
Longevity? I can't speak on this because I've only had it in my build for an hour or so. However, the B&M owner spoke of a customer who had been using the same piece of wick for a month... So I have high hopes. Normally, I rewick every day because I can't stand the flavor of wicks after two days.
Overall? On a normal day, I would have never purchased this stuff. But since I had to purchase something, and I was running low on cotton, I am glad I picked this up.
To the mods, because this was a review of cotton I didn't know where to put it. I apologize if this is the wrong place!
