This was a organic cotton build in my 22mm Griffin..had it apart for a flavor change and new cotton after vaping about 150 ml of juice thru it..might add that organic cotton build was still hitting awesome, no flooding or dry hits either...I like it, lol

Has anyone tried both Native Wicks Platinum and Vapers Choice Cotton?

The original Native product was called "Pima" and VCC is "Supima Cotton" - so I'm wondering if they're about the same.
I had been using Shiseido happily, but I kind of prefer this VCC lately - and while both are pricey...it goes a pretty long way for me...

Just wondering if it's worth trying the Native

I've tried F5 Supima Cotton, it's not bad. The Native Wicks Platinum Blend is very good stuff and I do have a stash of a few bags of it. For a Premium Vaping Cotton it's my favorite, much better than Cotton Bacon. But to be honest I still prefer Koh gen Do and that's my go to cotton. But for a premium cotton the Native Wicks Platinum Blend is excellent.

I had a couple samples of the original Native Wicks cotton, and didn't like it. I'd been using Cotton Bacon for a while; but recently picked up a pack of NW Platinum, on recommendation of a friend. I've been using it for a couple weeks, and really like it.
I have not tried Vapers' Choice.

I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007ODLA1O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 about 2 years ago and am about 1/4 into it. Vape shops can suck a .......... overpriced everything. I DIY everything, hell i used to rebuild them tiny premade attomizers/coils but that is long ago. I had done the cotton balls from walmart once boiled them and then dried them... i like the organic better i use about 1/4 of a pad per coil and peel just the outside layer carefully so not to take away too much cotton

I am not a cotton aficionado by any stretch but I greatly prefer the Native Wicks Platinum over the original. If a cotton is easy to work with, that "new cotton taste" goes away quickly, I don't get many dry or burnt hits and it lasts a long time, I'm good.

I find Native Wicks Platinum is as close to rayon as I have ever got from any cotton. Not necessarily a good thing for everyone.

Only cotton that I ever bought was KGD. It sucked juice into my coils. Exactly what I bought it for. Got a bunch of other cotton pads along with tanks and wire that I bought. It all sucked juice, all good stuff. The problem I had with all of it tho was consistency. All the cutting, peeling, spreading or fluffing the rerolling it always left me feeling like I was playing a guessing game trying to get the same wick performance time after time.

Then I read of using boiled cotton cheesecloth, cotton gauze and cotton yarn. It's all freaking cottono_O Perfect for me, seperate the threads find the right number of threads to fit your coils and bam exact same wick performance every time. The cheesecloth was fine for my tiny kanger coils. Have since moved on to tanks using larger coils so started using the larger threads of the yarn.
Taste? Schmaste! What ya expect it all tastes of cotton fer a coupla puffs. Nowhere near as bad as that Curad bandage tastin' rayon stuff.:glare:

I've found, and told lots of people that are new to using cotton that one of the most common mistakes, other than getting the right amount in the coil, is vaping too soon after wicking. If you insert a cotton wick, drip a couple drops of juice on the coil, and immediately start vaping, it's going to taste like a wet t shirt. The cotton has to absorb juice into every last fiber; and that doesn't happen in a minute or two. The higher the VG content of the juice, the slower complete saturation will happen. I make my juice at 80VG/20PG, and I will wait at least 15 minutes before vaping. Longer, if I can. I always have an alternate device to vape in the meantime.

a drop or 2 is no where enough to prime a wick properly, at least none of my wicks, hell it takes around a full ml to prime my wicks, once they are properly primed they are good to vape right away. i suppose if you have tiny coils/wicks 1-2 drops might do, like the size of them small pen tanks.

I agree. It really is surprising how much juice a new cotton wick will absorb.

On my RDA's I prime the heck out of the cotton before the first hit.
But I also prime the cotton in my coils like the Smok V8T8 just as much...it takes more than a couple drips to get the cotton around those small coils saturated all the way thru..I keep dripping on them till I see the juice glisten on the cotton down in the ports (4)
Must be priming them right as I'm getting a month or so on the coils before needing replaced..and no dry or burnt hits at 125w+
