I have a few drippers but am not really familiar with them. I know that in an rta having the ends of the wick just resting in the juice and not laying it it forces the juice to wick upwards. One thing that helped me with getting the right cotton density inside the coil is running the wick back and forth through the coil to make sure the cotton isn't bunching up on either side and the wick moves easily through the coil.

Hello @Metmorfin. Yeah, too much wicking through the coil and then you end up with the issue.

It's worse with cotton, due to the fact that it expands when wet.

What ID coil/s are you using and what cotton as well? Hopefully we can get you better sussed.

And if all else fails, try using Rayon.
For coils I'm using wotofo 0.3x0.6 +40x32 N80 with a 3mm diameter coming out on. 24 ohms, 2 of them
And cotton I'm using cotn threads,

Idk if it makes a difference but the rda is the dead rabbit. So the cotton is quite long

Tails may possibly be a little shorter than necessary, try increasing the length a little bit each side. 1cm or less I'm thinking.

And fluff the hell out of the cotton, don't try to thin it if you can.

And as @SlowTalker has mentioned, draw your wicking back and forth though a few times to help bed it in a little. Kind of like flossing.

So Ive been using my rda for a few days now, and I'm still really confused by how the cotton is supposed to work, because the bottom is drenched, but every 4 hits I need to add more juice at the top of the cotton that runs through my coils, I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be this way, does that mean it's too thicc?
TL;DNR: supports previous statements and makes only a minor comment about language which may not matter.

Too dense might be more accurate than thick. Thickness is width which may be ok, but it sounds like there’s to much cotton and not enough airspace (which becomes juice space)

After 3:00 in the video is where he explains that repetitively rubbing it between your fingertips (always in the same direction) is what increases the... well, in physics the technically correct word is adsorption effect. Also, rolling it into a sausage between the palms of your hands (like shown after 3:30 in the video), and doing so while applying the right amount of evenly distributed pressure helps to keep it from wanting to entangle itself (and possibly even breaking in half) as you try to pull it through the coil. Finally, after 8:32 in the video he explains how tight it should be.

It looks to me like there's too much cotton in the coil, which is why it's dry.
Have a good look at this build tutorial on the RDA. I've started it where he inserts the wicks:

The combing out part is how I usually do it, but I also like to very gently sort of pull on all the fluffs sticking out of the ends of the wicks after that, i.e. just enough to remove anything that isn't sitting in there tight. As for the juicing up part, I like to pulse it a very tiny little bit after juicing up only the part of the cotton that is sitting right inside the coils, before continuing to juice it up on top of the coils, pulsing a tad more vigorously/longer each time after I add a bit more juice like that. The incremental pulsing causes the cotton to loosen itself up just enough to properly prime it. It "sets". Whereas not applying any juice anywhere excepting only right on top of the coils causes all the air to be pushed out naturally from the center, thus preventing as many tiny air bubbles from getting stuck inside the tails as possible. Anyway I can forgive Mike for being such a noob. We all had to learn some time. :)
