Want to start rebuilding my Vivi Nova attys myself. I've seen the silica wicks vendors use degrade after 5-6 washes and dryouts, to the point where micro strands of fibers fall out. And I'm vaping it. So I'm thinking 100% cotton, leadfree and unprimed might be more durable and certainly must offer better absorption.

Have you done this? Rebuilt with cotton wick rather then silica?

Cotton wicks are awesome. I've tried yarn, twine, and candle wick. Nothing works better in my opinion than cotton balls. Just take a little pinch off one and roll it into a wick. Also, they're already sterile so I dont bother boiling them like I have to do with other wicks. It stays wet and lasts a long while. I use mine a full week or more. I've never changed one because it was bad, I just wanted to change flavors.

No strands coming off the rolled up cotton balls?

And thanks for your reply.

Nope, twist it up nice and tight when you are recoiling it. after it gets wet, it all stays together. Before I fill the tank, I take the bottle tip and wet the coil and wick first. Then it's ready to vape in just a few minutes.

My first time doing a rewick, I made the cotton ball wick too thick. Thinner works a little better. so just play around with a few different sizes to find what works best for you. If you ever need any help down the road, feel free to shoot me a pm.

PS. I love annoying orange!

I have that same wick and I like the cotton balls better. Better flavor, readily available (I just swipe 5 or 6 from my wife for my kit), and already sterile so you dont have to boil them.

One cotton ball should make at least 10 wicks.

But, try different stuff out. See what you like best. you might like the candle wick better. Anything is better than silica.

Get a roll of candle wick a 10.00 roll will last a really long time and has a lot of uses other than a nova, I use it in my era, chalice and Penelope if you decide to move on to something else you will already have the wick you need. Just what ever you do do not dry burn the coil you will catch the wick on fire. Drop some juice on it first. After its wet I have never had a problem with it.

A candle wick example that's handy

Was the cottonballs sarcastic? Cause I tried using cotton balls and they caught on fire..:(

Ive had tremendous success with silica wicking. Plus when I order it is comes in nice wound strings that are perfect for my coils.

You always have to keep it wet and do not dry fire it or it will catch fire
