I use cotton balls. Tried yarn but got tired of it burning into separate pieces. I can build a microcoil around 1.0 ohm and feed it with 2 or 3 strands of Peaches and Cream yarn. Halfway through the day, I would suffer loss of vapor and would wonder why. Take off the cap of the rda and see two pieces of wick lying in the bowl completely burnt in two.

Yarn would be good for a higher ohm coil, though.............

I have been using yarn since I first started building my own coils. It is much easier than the trial and error of shredding cotton balls trying to get the right amount. And it is a no brainer application. A 2mm id coil takes one piece of P&C yarn. I then use a single strand as a flavor wick.
