I know people who still use cartomizers. How old school is that.

HEY now... ;)

I think we're all asking the wrong questions, mostly we can agree that rayon tastes better and has less break-in, many would say it also lasts longer

So WHY DOES IT TASTE BETTER? WHY DOES IT LAST LONGER? WHY IS THERE NO BREAK IN?

I propose it's because it's a better wicking material that conducts juice to the coils more effectively, it does seem to answer all three of the mostly agreed differences between the two, right!?

More juice vaporized so better taste, more juice conducted from reservoir to active part of the wick, and lower heat to the wick from coils not being cooled as well as they could be, so the wick burns. Lastly, since cotton has to be broken in, that means it isn't meant to be as tight in the coil and has to burn and get 'into place'... That last one is out my ... but it kinda could make sense, and doesn't that mean it all finally makes sense

Still, I'm not ....ing vaping rayon... Just sounds nasty, like a cheap suit, nevermind that it's actually pure cellulose, maybe more pure than cotton

Sally's beauty roll here, it's five years old, it'll out live me for sure, it was a big difference for me but as long as someone is happy... Even if they could be happier is neither here or...

I thought Sally's and Grahams were actually the rayon but the reason they don't use the word "Rayon" is because "Rayon" is a trademarked term so to use it they would have to get permission and possibly pay money to do so.

Yeah I was kidding, my sallies says cellucotton, it's best for me, but I can't figure out why it's not the goto wicking for everyone, aside from 'organic cotton' sounds so much better than 'rayon' I still just marvel how much better it was, I'll never understand really, aside from cotton maybe more plentiful and premade coils wouldn't sell as often if they were all rayon

There's a little more than silica in there, though. I just realized that although I used cartos for a long time, I can't recall what that material is on the other side of the sleeve around the coil. Cotton?

I never got much into cartos like for carto tanks. But I remember the cigalike cartos I have taken apart had both silica wick and some kind of cotton surrounding it all.

I have no idea either but I like 'em. There's something unique about a well-saturated carto. Short-lived, relatively speaking, but uniquely marvelous (for me and my taste buds).

I never used Casablanca, (or Boba's for that matter)

But I always have two carto tanks going, one with Espresso (gotta have my morning coffee),and the other with a Hazelnut mix in it.

But then, three RDA's all loaded up with Ekowool wicks.

And .... who needs watts when ya got volts!!!:tumble:

    Hear, HEAR!

    Philistine! Heretic!

Look at it this way, CMD - in Vapeworld, we CAN have Variable Voltage without wattage, but we CANNOT have Variable Wattage without voltage (aka, "Of chickens & eggs").

    :D

B'sides - volts taste better.

Oh wow, this really takes me back to good old days of ECF in its heyday, lol. We've even got the volts vs watts shenanigans going on

IMO, both rayon and cotton are great if they are set up right. Neither one has any benefit in wicking, flavor, how long they last in a coil or how bad they taste if you burn juice on them. And the same for silica, ss mesh, gauze and hemp. I'm thinking I've missed a couple, but that's all I remember using right now over the years :)

And @DPLongo22, you know you can't vape volts. Volts with no amps doesn't create heat. That's because there are no watts in the picture. Volts times amps equals watts, therefore you can only vape watts :pervy:

There, I feel so much better now.

Hey, how come no-one mentioned cloud chasing and Provari's?!!?

Duh! 'Cause everyone knows you can't chuck clouds with less than 300 watts or a mech with a Trustfire 18650 and a 0.05ohm build.
