Hey guys, I've been using Rayon or CelluCotton for about a month now, and just started using Japanese Organic Cotton pads about a week ago, on my drippers. I'm just wondering which you guys prefer, and why? Which do you like better for flavor/taste, for your vape experience in general; and which do you prefer overall?

I only re-wicked my dripper with JC twice (1st time I peeled off the outside 2 layers and only used the inside, 2nd time used the whole pad). And tonight, I went back and re-wicked my coil with rayon again, to try and compare further.
It's hard to tell so far, but..

.... It seems flavor might be a tad better with JC (if not equal with CC). Nicotine hit/Throat Hit may be a tiny bit stronger on the CC. Vapor amount and density seems about even with each, but I think I have to play with wick density a little more, especially with JC pads.
Capillary action seems real nice on each, maybe a little better with JC pads since none of the fibers are ripped away from each other when cutting it, and they all flow the same direction. But the fibers in the nice long Rayon coil go the same direction too, for the most part. The JC is obviously easier to deal with and handle, but CC is a LOTT cheaper (a lifetime supply in a 500ft box for $11, makes 1000s of wicks. Or 5 little JC pads for $5, probably 20-100 wicks.)

It's still hard to tell for me, but I think I'll definitely be using a lot of my Rayon simply because of how dirt cheap it is. But it sure is quick n easy to cut n slide a Japanese Cotton wick in, and the flavor really pops, so I'll keep some of that around too. Either way, both are definitely an upgrade in performance from regular cotton balls, that I used to use!!
:p
Wish I could do a Poll on here.. What do you guys think??
You can get the JC cotton WAY CHEAPER online. Amazon has a 200 pad box/bag for like $7.00 something, but is an "add on item" which means they'll only ship it in conjunction with another order. So I bought mine from a company in Calif. http://www.webichi.com/en/products/COTTON_LABO for like 8.49 plus shipping.

I Used cotton for a week or 2 when I started dripping. Then switched to cellucotton rayon for many months. I loved it. Holds lots of juice. Mellow dry hit. Lasts longer til u have to change the cotton. But i was wheezing still. Did some reading and found that for some people rayon can cause wheezing and can aggravate asthma. So I have switched to Japanese organic cotton. It's too soon to tell if it's making a difference but I am enjoying it. It's just as easy to work with as any other cotton.

That is very very odd! I was born with asthma, and have had a terrible battle with it all my life. Parents smoked in the house, than I started smoking at 15 which I continued to do for 13 years.

I was waking up in the middle of the night starving for air, and that is the day I decided something needed to change fast! I picked up my first vape August 2013, and quit cigarettes that day, never looked back. And NO LIE, the next morning I woke up, and realized I had slept throughout the entire night! I was using my inhaler 3-4 times a day, as well as taking Advair daily, and bi-daily breathing treatments from my home nebulizer. Since I started vaping, I no loner need ANY medications to control my asthma.

I literally went from dying, to healthy in a very small amount of time. I have had my lungs checked frequently my entire life. After 6 months of making the switch to vaping, my lung function increased by 45%! And I can feel the benefits every single day. I can get active again, an laugh my .... off without running out of air!

All that said, I have been using cellucotton, which is basically 100% Rayon, and have no detrimental effects. If anyone would see effects, I promise you I would be one of the best candidates! Granted, my wicks are always fully saturated, I never even give it a chance to run anywhere near dry. But I was like that with cotton too.

Anyway, just wanted to chime in about Rayon from an asthmatics perspective with first hand experience. I have VERY sensitive lungs, and would know right away if the Rayon was harming them!

Cheers!

I am aware it can be obtained for much cheaper. But my research led me that authentic KohGenDo was supreme as far as Japanese cotton. So I set my sites on getting just that. And their are a ton of people selling knockoff KGD, so I had to dig around. I ordered my KGD from a seller on ebay that had 100% positive feedback and a ton of rave reviews directly on his store page. Authentic KGD is an extremely thick pad, the knock offs aren't!

My experience led me to believe that if I can't justify authentic KGD to be better than my cellucotton rayon, that their is no point in my stocking up on a cheaper supply of Japanese cotton pads. I just find rayon to put off a much sharper more clear flavor, and it is dirt cheap for a lifetime supply, plus I find it a breeze to work with.

Appreciate the link though, I may try a few other brands just to make sure. Others have suggested Muji, which is pretty inexpensive.

I and a couple of people I found (very few) get a weird taste from cotton. I tried 5 kinds of cotton, boiled and not, and it all tasted bad. Kg was one of them. I grabbed a repack of rayon on eBay and I love it. Vapor production seems similar and error tolerance is much better. I can't compare the flavor since I have some issue with cotton. Rayon works well and is very easy to work with. With cotton less is better but for Rayon more is better so make sure you pack the coil. Rayon handles dry hits much better as well.

I like japanese cotton (I bought shiseido cotton pads since I couldn't find kgd at the time). It's easier for me to use then cellucotton (my friend gave me a baggie of it to try) However, japanese cotton is so easy to cut into perfectly sized strips which can be fluffed easily and at the same time compacted at the ends so that it is simple to pull through my coils without having to use tweezers.

It's pretty darn cheap as long as you buy the 80 pad packs online or at Sephora. I haven't even made a dent in my box of cotton pads and it's been 4 months. Cellucotton is even cheaper, but I don't have a vaping hobby room to store a huge box of cellucotton that would last me several lifetimes heh.,. ;b
