I've been vaping for about six weeks and going through the frustrations of settling in with equipment, liquid, where to purchase etc. Was a 10 pack a week smoker and now down to about 2. Only 1 cigarette in the past 28 hours.

My wife has mentioned twice just out of the blue that my cough is gone.
Guy that works with me said "Hey, you're doing alot better" [Physical Work]
56 years old and the smokes were taking their toll.
Had no hope to quit just self condemnation.

Well, I've got hope.

Thanks for everyone here.

Congrats Mike, I know the feeling. Been off the regular cigs three weeks here myself and I have no cough and a bunch more energy. I have had a smokers cough for at least 15 years. Folks always commented that they could tell where I was in a grocery store because of my cough. Well now they can't find me.
Good luck and keep up the good work.

I hope you guys are right. I know in the past when I`ve quit, that it`s been gone in a few days. Well, I haven`t had an analog since Tues. A.M., and it`s better. I know my allergies have been bad, and I was blowing my nose all day. That problem is all but gone, but still have a little nagging drip in the back of my throat.

Monday will for four weeks without a cig for me. My cough is gone. When I lay down to go to sleep at night, I don't have all that coughing and weird breathing while I try to fall asleep. And I don't have to cough up a lung in the morning!

I do have a bit of tender mouth if I vape too much but I just drink a lot more water, which is good for me anyway. Two weeks in, I had a bad sore throat but I cut my nicotine from 24mg to 12mg and now my throat is fine.

Considering I've tried to quit cigs cold turkey or by using every product on the market, I am very happy with myself and how I feel. Nicotine will probably be with me for the rest of my life, but I think I prefer this method of addiction to actual smoking!

Congrats and keep it up!
Rich

You know my son's in the other room with a half pack of Marlboros. I was tempted to go and get one, even had it in my hand. Then I thought about it, don't want to let myself down with all the support I'm getting from this thread.

I still get the same temptation after a meal, but it goes away as soon as I vape. I'd also wager that one puff of the cig and you'd put in down quickly. ;)

I started with a kr8 and then added a Joye510 3 days after that. I used to smoke 1 and a half packs a day and by the second day of vaping, I completely stopped! I still feel the urge every now and then....and have a pretty good way of getting around it. I go out to my balcony (where I used to smoke) and light an analog cig. I then leave it in the ashtray and sit down next to it. After a short while, the smell is enough to drive me back into my apartment and grab my PV! Works for me :)
