Hey guys, curious if any of you 510 experts could help me out here?

A few months ago, I ordered a 510 atomizer (forgot from where) and a 510 - 901 adapter to fit it on my KR808D-1 batteries I use from Vapor4Life. I wanted to try the 510 because I hear that so many love the experience they've had with it, so I wanted to give it a shot. Origionally, I bought it thinking I could use it to help me test out new juices, along with my own mixes. However, there's a problem with that since I've very little experience with it. So far, I think its a great atomizer, but everything has its drawbacks. So, here are my questions:

1) Since I bought it to try out different juices, I've come into the problem of cross-contamination with the flavors of my juices. I'm not quite sure on the proper method of cleaning it out. I don't know about burning juices out or what not without damaging it, so I've just sort of done the best I can. What is the best method of cleaning the 510 atomizer and getting rid of all previous flavors out of it?

2) Another thing I'm curious about are the different brands, ohms, etc of the 510 model. So far, it gives huge amounts of vapor, compared to my KR808D-1 cartoz. The only problem is the TH is very lacking. Generally, I've been using 24mg Caramel Cream from TopVapor in it. I usually use 18mg (of various flavors) in my Vapor King, but use the 24mg in the 510 to sort of help with the big cravings when needed. Are there any other, or more specifically, what brand and ohm rating 510 atomizer should I be using or could try that would give me a better TH on my KR808D-1 (with adapter) 5v passthrough? Again, I can't remember where I got the 510 atomizer and are unsure what ohm rating its at. As I said, it gives huge amounts of vapor...very cool (temperature) vapor, but low throat hit.

One thing I love about the 510 so far, (just to let you know), is that the vapor that comes from it is soooo clean and fresh compared to my KR808D-1 cartoz. I've even recently tried the new CE2 Clearomizers, with the new wick style. But still, the 510 has the cleanest tasting vapor compared to anything I've used so far. I suppose that's another reason why I'm hoping for a few tips on proper cleaning and proper use of it.

I doubt I'll ever give up my Vapor King, from Vapor4Life, but its always nice to be well rounded :)

Thanks in advance for any help you guys (and gals) can offer!

You clear out the flavors by either blowing out the atty or just adding a couple of drops of plain VG and vaping (you don't have to inhale this) until the flavor is gone. I just vape mine until the flavor is gone without adding anything and then switch flavors. For regular cleaning in between uses, you can just soak it in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for about 15 minutes and let it dry out overnight. All of the alcohol will evaporate.

The ohms of a standard 510 atty are between 2.3 and 2.5. If you aren't getting a lot of TH, then you might want to look at getting juices with more PG in them. You're already using a high nic level. Standard resistance attys are the ONLY thing you should be using with your current PV. Low resistance attys will ruin them because they can handle the power generated by LR attys.

Hope this helps!

Thanks ALOT, WoH :) I thought it was odd too that I wasn't getting much TH with a 24mg nic lvl juice. I guess it has a lot of VG in it. What brand of 510 atomizer do you use or hear of that's good? Are there much of a difference in brands?

Oh and I thought that isopropyl alcohol was bad for atomizers, or maybe I'm just thinking about cartomizers. Usually, when cleaning my cartoz out, I use vodka...will that work just as good for the 510? Hmm, I've got a huge thing of regular VG...like 200ml of it. I'll try that to get out the flavors.

Thanks again WomanOfHeart o/

I clean my 510's with just plain old white vinegar. I actually put mine in a shot glass, lean the attys, cover them with vinegar, and let them sit a couple hours. You will actually be able to see the liquid that it removes from the atty on the bottom of the the glass. I then run them under the hottest water I can stand, blow them out, let them sit a while, an hour at the most, then vape. There is no leftover flavors, no burnt taste, and they look brand new. I do this a couple times a week. If no one has tried the white vinegar trick, give it a shot, it really works!

Yeah, Keyzy's been around awhile...she's helped us tons! Thanks Keyzy...I use the 510 on my V4L battery with an adapter, but I might have to try a 901 at some point. Eventually, I'd like to test out more of the popular models. So far though, nothing's beat my V4L stuff.

And EMT, I use white vinegar to clean stuff like my coffee pot...didn't think of using it to clean an atomizer. I can see how it would work good...I'll give that a shot, thanks!

I use standard 510 attys (not HV or LR) and have been since day 1. I love them, easy to de-bridge/wick for dripping and great performance. To clean the juice out I usually blow out the top (non-threaded) and wipe the excess out of the bottom (threaded) holes on to a tissue or something, then dry burn for 10 seconds or so. Then, I do it again. 2 times usually suffices. No cross-contamination on flavors as of yet. This would definitely be an issue if i was switching a menthol/cinnamon flavor to another in the same atty. If you are doing that, I suggest dedicating an atty to those flavors.

I have no issues with TH on my standard 510s. It all depends on the nic content and the juice.

As far as cleaning, I drop mine in 70-90% isopropyl alcohol for 5 mins, let it drip out a few times, then dry overnight. No alcohol residue left, only a clean atty. Some people don't like the idea of using isopropyl alcohol, but it's been working for me just fine. Happy vaping man, hope the 510 works out for you. On another note, I do plan to try another atty model at some point, just haven't needed to with my current equipment.

Hmm, I suppose I'm just spoiled by the great TH I get with my Vapor King.

510 = more vapor...KR808D-1 = more TH, all with the same juice. Its all a compromise I suppose. :)

Oh, and thanks for the great info!
