I kinda like that it has an auto shut off. I had a mod that did that and though annoying for use at home, it was great for out and about. No need to turn it off or remember if I did or not when I picked it up again.

Not crazy about "brick mode" o_O Is it actually charging and the internal confusion happens when you take it off before fully charged? Do you always have to wait 10 minutes or so after charge to use the device?

Could you also explain a bit on how you think the auto shut off is a lifesaver --- what's different about the programming that makes this so? No auto sleep mode or something similar?

Since I have one coming, I'd love to know more about it.

As for "brick mode", I don't have equipment to test the power pushed/pulled and if it's charging durring the sequence.

Simply there is nothing to worry about, just make sure the screen turns off before plugging in the charger.

When you plug in the cord AS the screen is turning off, the mod does not seem to recognize you plugged it in. With the cord still in, you can press buttons, adjust setting, ect, but the screen does not indicate it is charging. ONCE you take the cord out, is when it gets confused and "bricks" itself. You can plug in a cord but the screen won't light up, you can click the button 5 times but the screen will not light up, you can even try to fire an atomizer but it just wont. At this point to have to wait till the "auto off" feature kicks in after what I beleive is 15 mins, before you can click it 5x and turn it on.

You can use the device while it charges or right off the charger.

As for auto off being a life saver, when the system glitches into "brick mode", if it didn't "auto shut off" your device would just sit there completely useless because you cannot manually reset the device (remove battery and reinsert).

Well, after alot of playing around the last few days at max power, it seams the most efficient resistance range is between .8 and 1.2

Lower draws too many amps and any higher pulls to much voltage, resulting in poor power transfer and poor battery life.

Yesterday is what really drew the line, I was using a 1.3 ohm single coil at 35w(power mode)and only got 1/3 the way thru my day. With a .9 dual coil I get thru the entire day up untill 10pm when I put it on charge @ the same 35w (power mode)

For what it's worth. I can really appreciate this mod for what it is, and how it performs. Besides the rubber finish (personaly would of like a brushed black like the cool fires and older gen mvps), they hit the nail on the head as far as aesthetics and useage. Firmware could have ben better without the annoying little glitches here and there, but otherwise absolutely no issue.

Definatly picking up a second.
Makes a great combo mixed with the goblin nano (mine currently at .82 resistance with 28g kanthal)

Guys, I'm really interested in this mod. Just one doubt: I usually use Kayfuns with 1.6 coils @ 8/9/10W on my evic vtc. Would the minivolt last a good couple hours with this settings?

Also, I've read that the mod has some glitches.. Is the software updatable (to fix that)?

Thanks!
At those settings, it should last as long as any other 1300mah device ;)

As far as updates, I beleive they left that option out of this mod. Their "istick"ish 70w mod is upgradable tho.

From Mooch. Waiting on a reply from COV. Check the battery stamp.
ha you beat me to it. I was about to say the same thing.

Though its nice to see the internals. I bet in the event of battery failure, I could rig a 18350 in there ^^

Hey ate63: I thought of going the same route with the Tobeco KS RTA's but it cover's the screen but other then that they do look pretty cool on the Mini Volt!

I think I'll keep my KS RTA's on the iStick 40's TC Subohm.

Been Digging the two Mini Volts adding a Third Red one to the Stable!

Sure would like to hear what COV has to say about the battery installed in them!
