Excellent story - I've recently moved away from L'ville, and still have many friends there, some of whom were interviewed for this article. The reporter was really cool, apparently, about finding out as much as he could without giving ecigs a negative bias. Very reasonable, very balanced. :)

I've used my ecigs & mods in L'ville many times, when I go to visit, and never experienced a problem. I'm always careful about using them in bars and the like, to avoid any problems due to confusion, but I've never had issues - the University of Louisville campus is "smoke free" now (sometimes ignored by some smokers), and it's nice to use my ecig while there! And I've had more people in L'ville randomly approach me to ask about my VapeStack ("What the hell is that?") than anywhere else in the country I travel to.

Quite impressive, this coming from a KY news source - Kentucky being one of the states with the highest tobacco consumption in the country!

Overall a very good article. But one sentence was totally inaccurate

While their sale is legal in most of the U.S., including Kentucky and Indiana, several states have banned e-cigarettes or are considering it.

In fact, no states have banned the sale of e-cigarettes, and no states are going to enact that type of legislation this year.

I've notified Patrick Howington (writer of the article) about this mistake, and have asked for a correction to be made.

Also, Dr. Brad Rodu, of the University of Louisville was quoted. He writes a great blog on tobacco harm reduction:

Tobacco Truth

I loved this comment left to the Courier-Journal article:

Rodu reads like a glove-fit to Mike Siegel. Somehow, someway, people like this that are willing to swim against the current need their simple facts of the matter--no matter how egregiously politically incorrect--publicized in a higher-profile venue than a blog.

The New England Journal of Medicine would do nicely. I look forward to reading it there while snowball fighting in hell amid all the flying pigs.
