They have a "prohibited" list of items. I would suspect some anti-smoking fanatics felt your ad fell under one of the following catagories of prohibited items..........

*Alcohol or tobacco products.

*Prescription drugs and medical devices, including but not limited to prescription or contact lenses, defibrillators, hypodermic needles or hearing aids.

*Nonprescription drugs that make false or misleading treatment claims or treatment claims that require FDA approval

My ads are now getting flagged just about as fast as I can place them. I have seen no mention of an official ban of e-cigs on the CL forums but I am almost positive that CL has their site set up to automatically look for keywords for e-cigs and auto flags them. Things just seem to be getting worse for our little hobby here. :(

Anyone can FLAG an item though- so, it could be another craigslist user, a competitor, or the site "moderators"- Get creative with your Ads and post on more than one section... at least it is FREE and on more than one section, it may get seen a couple times before getting flagged...
I would also stress right up front that you are a Local Dealer- (even w/in 100 miles of your actual residence)
and if you are putting out a mass ad so it hits over state borders and such... well, good luck But you may want to look into a bit of an advertising budget... Get an ad in a local "Community" mag- a "gig" publication, etc etc

*I am not in any way affiliated w/ the sales of electronic cigarettes- I have, however, owned my own business... enough said-

TARGET your Market - Business will come...

We have a guy here who started a thing called alaskaslist. He got sick and tired of having his ads on CL flagged for no apparent reason, so he made his own version and it's really taken off. He doesn't have any personal ads or ...... ads or rants and raves: just buying and selling goods and services. The guy reviews every request to place an ad. He's got his family helping him, I guess. He only charges if you want your ad to be a "sticky" that stays at the top of the page.

I don't know if any other areas have this sort of thing, but I know I appreciate what they've done with alaskaslist. Of course, our whole state has fewer people than most medium-sized cities, so it's pretty manageable. I gave up on CL as soon as I heard about alaskaslist, but I know if I ever sell my house I'll probably post on both sites. I should probably send him an e-mail and ask if he'd have any problem with listing a PV or e-liquids for sale. He seems like a really decent guy in my limited experience with the site.

There really are too many "flaggers" on CL who've made it their mission to flag virtually anything that they find offensive; they're often the misguided moral guardians with literally nothing better to do. They're not always wrong, I guess....
