So, I'm up and getting ready for work as I always do this morning. Check my E-mail, catch up a little bit here, the usual routine. Pack my stuff up for the day, and head out the door. As I do I can't help feeling like there was something I forgot. And not just one of those momentary things either, it kept nagging at me on my way to work. By the time I got there, I was taking out what I normally take out for my day, and I realize what it is: I forgot my juices.

But it was worse than that. I forgot my kit! My kit. With my spare 18650, some prefilled cartos, an extra new blank carto, and an emergency 3ml bottle of juice. I had my ProVari on me -- I never go anywhere without it --and the battery is freshly charged. There's one new DCC attached to it with some good juice in it. Probably 2/3rds full, since I cracked it open and filled it an hour or two before bed last night.

I went rummaging around in my pack for any spare juices. Nothing. But wait! There's my trusty 510, fully assembled with a carto in it! I kept it in my pack, just in case. Haven't used it for at least a couple of weeks. No idea how much juice is in the carto. It feels like it's got a fair bit in it, though it isn't producing much vapor. Plenty of TH. But it's a Bauway carto. They're great when new (functionally; they're a little shoddily constructed), but subsequent refills don't seem to go nearly as well as they should. But it might do.

So basically I'm conservation mode here. No spare juice, two cartos, not sure how much there is left in total. Plenty of battery life, not worried about that, but I'm going to have to play it safe just in case. I've dialed my ProVari down to 3.7V and leaving the Bauway carto on the 510 because the ProVari will probably just burn through its juice quicker.

This is going to be a fun day.

Ya know, that's a sign that yer no longer a youngin'.

That I am finding out just about every day in small and annoying ways. And given that I'm a little over a month away from putting my third decade on Earth behind me, that's only going to get more ... entertaining.

Dang!! Good thing you have your backup...is it possible to have a backup juice? Perhaps a small 10 ml or so container you could throw in there too? It might go bad after a while I suppose...

Yeah, that's something I really should probably do. Thing is, I'd done that already, except I'd removed the emergency juice I had in my backpack a few weeks ago with the intention of replacing it with something better (the stuff I had in there was terrible anyway, and it'd been there for several months already) but never got around to it. Guess this is as good a reminder as any.

Trying to take things slow at work right now. Taking a puff or two every 5 minutes or so. Had to dial the ProVari back up to 3.9 because the flavour of the juice I have in the DCC right now just doesn't taste quite right at 3.7. (VV really does turn you into a friggin' flavour snob.)

I always have a little 3ml bottle with me, along with my Provari (w/extended cap, always change battery at night), never leave home without it! If I were you I'd fix a little 3ml bottle to take and leave at work, along with at least one spare carto (2 to be safe). I keep that little backup in my vehicle (in case of hot weather, I'd just leave it at work).

You might want to check out ProVape web site today, they have some new batteries for the Provari, 2500 mAH.

Third decade, in just about a month I'll be putting my fourth behind me, let me tell you the fun is just beginning.

How far away from home do you work? Might have to make a mad dash during lunch break:?:

Unfortunately I'm just a little too far from work to be able to make it home and back -- I only get half an hour for lunch and it's a 20-25 minute trip each way. On just about any other day I'd be in a position to take a bit of extra time on lunch without anyone having an issue, but three key people are on vacation this week so there'd be nobody to cover for me.

Oh gawd! That's my nightmare 'n I know it's gonna happen sooner or later. Hang in there MF!

Thanks. I think I should be okay as long as I pace myself. There appears to be enough liquid in both cartos to do me 'til I get home provided I take it easy.

You're lucky you have "backup chutes" attached to you at all times. I only have 2 kits and 1 of em isn't even worth mentioning. I keep my vape wallet as I call it right next to my keys before I go to work so if I forget that I'm pretty much screwed! I was living your story for the 45seconds of reading! Tough stuff haha. Hang in there...

Yeah, that's definitely on the agenda. In fact, keeping the bottle at work probably isn't a bad idea, it's dark and relatively cool in my desk. A new spare carto or two in my desk probably wouldn't hurt either.

Saw that, definitely on the agenda, but probably not for at least another month. I blew the crap out of my budget the last few weeks so I need some recovery time. :)

I'll bet it does! Someday I'll get me one of those Provari things. Maybe Christmas...hang in there my friend!

Hangin' in. Got a couple of snacks I can munch on in lieu of taking a few puffs if I get the urge, so I've got some bases covered anyway. Just gotta keep running 'til I hit home plate without being tagged out.

That was a terrible analogy.

backup better than nothing..this would have made for a very bad day for me..I've had some crappy vaping days..batteries are a no go..no spare cartos..low on juice..and juice starts tasting funny..

Very true -- finding my backup 510 in there set off the playing of a brief triumphal march in my head, like back in the day when I was totally out of smokes and the store was closed and I'm scrambling around and YES, there's a flattened and stale cigarette between the couch cushions! Score! The battery was even fully charged, too. (I still have my 510/eGo charger hooked up to my work computer though so no worries on that end.)

Oh (((Mindfield)))your living one of my worst nightmares! You've got this though, you don't have all that time under your belt for nothing. This is your time to shine :)
On the spare side I started keeping a PT in my car and some strong juice just in case the unthinkable does happen.
And as far as leaving your 3rd decade behind. Me too very soon, but were more like fine wine right ;) and I hear that 40 is the new 30 and 30 is the new 20 so I'm my mind I'm still 20 :) please don't mess with my logic here!

One of these days you will get tired of all this. But when that happens, don't give up. There is a very simple solution to your problems.

Thanks! :D I'm not sure about shining, but I could probably manage a dull glow through a dirty window. I'm sure I'll be able to make it -- with or without juice. Although I'd really rather it with juice. But so far so good. Half an hour before lunch, I've vaped less than normal, they're still hitting well and I haven't felt the need to punch anything yet, so ... so far so good.

I think I have caramel flavour in this 510 carto -- it smells like caramel -- but it's hitting like Juicy Vapor's toasted marshmallow, which has the Chuck Norris of throat hits. Not that I'm complaining, makes me feel like I'm getting more than I am, which at this point is a good thing.

On the spare side I started keeping a PT in my car and some strong juice just in case the unthinkable does happen.

I still haven't bothered with a PT yet. I'm not sure if I really need one. I'm the kinda guy that has like, 3 chargers for every rechargeable device I own -- one for work, one for home, one spare. And if the spare ever gets employed in addition to the other two for any reason, I get a fourth. I like being prepared.

Except, apparently, for being caught at work with no juice. A situation I intend to rectify promptly.

When I first started I was the same way -- except I had one kit and that I was sharing with my wife. I actually had to smoke a couple of analogs once when my one battery died and my wife's was in the bedroom and she was asleep and I didn't want to wake her, so I smoked a couple of analogs while I charged the battery just enough to get me through 'til I went to bed.

I bought another kit shortly after that. :) Now I've got enough gear that I have some backup options. It's just a matter of having them in the right places.

One of these days you will get tired of all this. But when that happens, don't give up. There is a very simple solution to your problems.

If it involves the words "quit" and "vaping," I'm not goin' out like that. I'm stupidly stubborn, and if pushed to do something I don't want to do I dig my heels in further. That has to be something I decide to do on my own terms or it's just not happening.

OK, ya'll convinced me to pack 'n stow some emergency supplies in the center console. I always have a cig lighter charger plugged in with a spare batt. But to get caught without any juice would be catastrophic!
anim_shock.gif

Let's see:

15ml nicquid bottle, stored in larger prescription pill bottle (in case of leakage)
spare loaded eMDCC in same pill bottle
another spare batt

There, that should cover any short term vaping emergency...

Mindfield, we're pullin' fer ya! Hang in dere...
