Most beautiful day here - high of about 88 - no humidity. Here in Louisiana if we don't like the weather we just wait until tomorrow - guaranteed to be different.

Hi maryjo... No humidity sounds fabulous! We get these afternoon storms that come out of nowhere so we don't have to wait that long for a change. Then it's just steamy. :)

I'm excited. Tomorrow our county fair starts and I made a quilt to enter into the fair. Last year I got a Grand Champion ribbon on my quilt.

Life is good like that when something you work hard gets recognition.

Here's my quilt for this year... the fabrics are of the 50 US State Flowers.

I designed it myself...

Oh mamu!!!! That's gorgeous! Didn't I read somewhere that you knit as well? I just re-discovered knitting. Haven't done it since I was about 12. I'm into making socks these days. But it's hard to get into it when it's so hot. I also do beadwork. I love to weave with the teeniest seed beads.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I love all things hand made. It's hard work to make things yourself and nowadays you can buy things cheaper.

Yes Suzi - I like to knit too. Mostly doilies and table coverings.

I got a Grand Champion on my doily too. It was an absolutely awesome year for me. Probably never happen again.

Here's mine frrom the county fair last year...

Bristow, Ok.
Yikes! Same happened to me when I tried to weave baskets years ago. I even died my own reed. That stuff is hard on your hands. So I have uber respect for you doing that.

I don't have any problems with my hands when I weave. It is quilting that tore my hands up. I weave baskets with very long natural nails. I very seldom break one. I have to cut them off.

That is beautiful. I thought I was really doing something when I make an afghan.

Maybe I teach you how to quilt stormy without harming your hands and you teach me how to basket weave.

I love to see the gorgeous patterns in baskets. There are some ladies here that enter theirs in the fair and they are just gorgeous!
