Just bought a Vamo V5 and dropped it this morning. My buddy pointed out that the press fit joint where the 350 tube and the head are connected is crooked. Of course they don't screw together and are press-fit. Has anyone had this happen and know of a good fix that won't weaken that seam even more?

The obvious solution is to tap it in with a mallet, but I wanted to know what everyone else thought before I chance hitting it in crooked or having the OTHER side pop out.

You may not have noticed and it was always a bit off.
I have read many comments on the Vamo 510 leaning. Mine, an original Vamo has a slight tilt and has never landed on the atomizer.

I tried my best to think back and can't remember to be honest with you. It's not the 510 that's leaning. It is right here and it annoys the crap out of me.

I have an older vamo and this has happened to me several times, each time was when it was dropped. What has worked for me is to wrap my hands around the vamo with one hand on each side of the crooked joint (for lack of a better description). I place my thumbs straight, pointing to each other and close to the joint. I then press with my thumbs and fingers as if I am trying to pop/push just one side back in. Then I go to the opposite side and do it again. You may have to rotate it around and do this a few times but I have always been able to pop it back in. I am a little old lady with arthritis and carpal tunnel in both hands/wrists so if I can get it back in this way it will probably be easier for you. I'm not saying this is the best way to do it and hopefully someone has a better way, but this has worked for me. I love my vamo and it is still working good after a year and a half but this is definitely a design flaw, IMHO. Good luck.

I've had to perform the 'leaning vamo' operation several times. The vamo sections that are not threaded are all press fit. Dropping, sitting on, banging your vamo can cause the 'leaning vamo' effect. Both crxess or swhite methods have been used to correct the problem, but I've never resorted to using a hammer. Heck I've even received a new one through the mail that was crooked. I think I'd rather deal with the 'leaning vamo' problem than a bent battery tube.
Good Luck

isnt cheap stuff great ! lol

my original V1 came apart on that seam so i put 2 drops of gorilla glue, one thick glob on opposite sides and whacked it back into place, the G glue expands when it dries, never moved again

This. Definitely something to think about the next time it separates. Thanks for the idea.
