So one of my favorite brands of liquid was discontinued. Needless to say I was bummed, but the other day, I found the same liquid at a different retailer. The problem is that the only level of nicotine they sell is 8 mg, where I use 18 mg. They didn't sell anything higher. I purchased the 8 mg, but was thinking of adding nicotine to it to raise the mg level.
Has anyone purchased liquid from a retailer, then "modified" it by adding extra nic, pg, vg, etc?

Haven't tried it yet, but will try soon

I've done it before, but it was because my favorite juice actually had too much flavoring for the equipment I was using, so added a 50/50 mix of VG/PG (my preferred mix) at the same nic level. If you just want to add nic, but not greatly affect flavor, use a high concentration of nic base, like 100mg. Only a very small amount of base will be used, but will increase your nic level.

You can buy small nic amounts to add to your juice. If you just add nic in a PG/VG base of your choice you won't seriously affect the mix of your juice. for the least flavor affect, buy a small bottle of 100mg/ml nic base in the same PG/VG proportions as your juice.

Remember that skin contact with 100mg/ml nic is dangerous. Wear surgical gloves when you open the bottle and use it. Immediately wash any area that it touches, including skin, countertops, and utensils. A water wash is sufficient since it's water soluble. Don't leave the bottle where kids and pets can get to it.

Use a juice calculator to figure out how much to add. This one is good.

I've done some playing with my DIY and store juices. I have one store juice I mix 50/50 with DIY unflavored at the same nic level that reduces the flavor to a level I really like. I mix some others at different portions with my own flavor as well to reduce the cost. And I got a good deal on a 180ml store bottle at 0 nic I added mine to get to 6mg nic with little effect on flavor. Having said that, I second using 100mg nic to minimize the dilution of flavor.

From 18 nic to 8 is a big drop without a transition period. Unless your using protanks or clearo's 18nic is quite strong for the newer vape products. If your vaping lower then 1.4ohm coils, 18 nic IMO is brutal. It took me 3 years to go down from 24 to 9 with a lot of help from vape technology delivering better attys and devices over the last couple years.

It can be done with very little flavor loss if you use 100mg strength Nicotine. Use an e-juice calculator such as the e-juice me up calculator to calculate the amount you will need to add to bring it up to 18mg.
