Thus far no response simply that my email (which I sent to every department of health Canada) was forwarded on to the correct area then directed to an "expert" apparently will post their response in its entirety when it comes. I'm anticipating it will take them a while to respond. Interested to see their answer myself. Once I do I'll post it all in a new thread so its not really hidden away

We need to challenge them on their stance not on a case by case basis. We need to stand up for our rights.

But how? If I'm not mistaken, parliament passed Bill C-36 (including severe amendments/additions to the Consumer Product Regs) back in 2010 which gives a LUDICROUS amount of power to Health Canada to overstep their proper, constitutional grounds and shut down businesses on a whim while playing judge, jury, and executioner. (They did this to try and stop natural health remedies - Big Pharma sure has it's dirty paws on HC - and may well do this to our community as well.) This is how I think they got away with what they did to Zen in Montreal - invaded his home like he was some terrorist to confiscate e-liquid, etc. He tried taking HC to court but the judge sided with guess who. (If anyone hasn't, you should read Vincent's side of things, quite shocking but no doubt 100% true.

I suppose I should read up on the current forms of the relevant legislation, but from what I've read about the Bill in its original form, I have no idea how it could stand up to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, since it abolishes the law of trespass, not even requiring a regulatory body of the state such as HC to obtain a search warrant first. But then again, this shouldn't be a surprise as the global super-elite continue to attempt to maximize their profits at the expense of the masses' rights and freedoms through organizations such as the UN, EU, trade associations, and the like. I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but I do believe we are currently witnessing a slow erosion of democracy on a global scale, the ramifications of which may not be seen for some time, but I'm becoming more and more convinced of this fact the more research I do into economics and politics. (Like, how does Monsanto continue to stay even in existence despite the barrage of proof that their GMO stuff causes all sorts of problems for human and environmental welfare? And then there's Champix/Chantix/varencline/whatever-the-suicidal-stop-smoking-drug-is-called...nice one Pfizer).

Woops, didn't mean to go on a rant but I think we all need to get informed and be aware of what's going on behind the scenes...if nothing else, I'm thankful to the vaping community for helping open my eyes to some of the fascist-type abuses that can and do occur in this troubled world of ours, even in our own ostensibly free country.

Anyone notice this update yet? Canada Post - Non-mailable Matter

Updated on August 12, 2013: Clarification on Electronic smoking products.

2:
Electronic smoking products (i.e. electronic products for the vaporization and administration of inhaled doses of nicotine including electronic cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos and pipes, as well as cartridges of nicotine solutions and related products) currently require market authorization by Health Canada prior to being imported. Failure to obtain this authorization will result in your items being refused entry by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). For additional information, refer to the Notice - To All Persons Interested in Importing, Advertising or Selling Electronic Smoking Products in Canada on the Department of Health Canada website.

They're so far up the rectum of Big Pharma it would be hysterical if it weren't so sad. If HC really cared, they'd be doing everything possible to make these products as accessible as possible. Shame they have to make us feel like criminals who are otherwise law-abiding citizens. If they refuse any of my orders there's gonna be a fight.

Notice how they don't give reference to any particular law/regulations? Threaten, confuse, obfuscate, and bully seems to be their MO.

I fought for 2 months with CSBA and HC over a shipment of juice they took. If you want to get it in under the 4mg dose rule (schedule f) you have to prove it's under the 4 mg. That is the loop hole they use and stand behind.

My advice is to tell them to send it back and try again. (Typing this while vaping said juice that was stop the first time.)

On the “Vincent issue”. Read the court transcripts. The man was badly represented, the case was poorly prepared and Vincent played into Health Canada by making claims that e-cigs were beneficial for your health. Above and beyond anything else Health Canada had him dead to rights based on the current legislation.

If you think I’m wrong then answer this: why are there a ton of vape shops in Montreal operating in the open with Nic up front and in the open? By rights and precedent Health Canada should have a field day in Montreal: “a couple of steamies, some poutine, a pepsi and a May West then lets shut down a Vape shop.”

If you check CBSA site, the onus is on them to prove your product is contraband/banned. Not a loop hole, just a lie

Also, new thread started with response from previously mentioned letter to HC, so this should be closed now
