I had something interesting happen a little bit ago with the Cyclone and cotton. I had been using some KGD I got from Chowderhead72 on the Cyclone I got from him and was pretty happy with the flavor, although I was still getting a little metallic taste which I attributed to the Cyclone still being new. I just re wicked the Cyclone with some organic cotton ball and when I fired it up immediately had a totally different flavor. The old wick was still nice and clean. The slight metallic taste was gone and the flavor of the same juice was even better than before. When got the Cyclone Saturday I build new coil and today I dry burned the coil before putting in the new wick. Pretty much same diameter of cotton was used as well. I'm trying to figure out if it was the KGD or just dry firing the coil and re wicking. I did dry fire the coil originally to tighten when I first built.

With my afc cap, single coil at .9 ohm, I notice the vape from my unflavored is sweeter, very noticeably so. I actually thought there was some kind of residue from the previous owners juice but I boiled this bad boy and it's still sweeter. I couldn't honestly tell you why

I agree 100%. I thought it was because I like the atty so much with the AFC so tried the unflavored with several to verify.

It's the dry firing I think. I used to get a metallic taste off a totally new coil. Seems some Kanthal wires may have a bit of residue from manufacturing causing weird tastes on the initial vape.

In addition to dry burning, I also wash my coil in tap water after the dry burning before wicking. I rarely get that metallic taste since.

I hear a lot of people complaining abou the 2mm set screw coil screws being Allen grub screws and how you must replace them with Phillips headed screws, I will never understand dumbing down a great product so you don't have to evolve. Buy a .035 or .9mm (they are the same thing but sold both ways) driver, Hudy, MIP, etc and embrace the precision of the system. I will agree the supplied Allen wrench sucks but with the correct driver it becomes a pleasure to re-coil. Besides the driver will also give you a coil wrapping option, personally I have a Hudy with a 1.8mm shaft that I use for all of my coils (not sure if you would call that a micro, nano, medium coil but it works great for me. I will post a link to the one I use.

Hudy US Standard Allen Wrench (0.035" x 60mm) [HUD123520] | Tools - A Main Hobbies

Just a heads-up....On my brand-new Cyclone, just received from IndyVapor, the .035" driver is too small (i'm using a Moody tool).
IDK if vicious ant is using different set screws now, but the included wrench and set screws on this new unit is larger (I'm Guessing .050")

Having the same issue with my Cyclone... also, the taller post is on the outside, so my driptips don't fit all the way in. Is that because it's an older version? Other than that, I love it. I was thinking of changing out the screws- not sure what to look for. Otherwise, I'll have to cut down the taller one & I'm not sure how I'll do that. Any ideas?

I'm thinking about cutting a little off the set screw from the bottom...I only need a hair more room........I'm hoping some of the modding gurus will chime in and let us know if perhaps the posts can be removed and switched  Also I'll post the larger size of the hex when I get my driver set.

Hey there, did you figure out the size of the hes screw? It's definitely not .050. I'm still trying to find something that'll work.

Sorry it took so long but I'm perplexed.........

First I bought this .035" driver and it was too small
Hex Driver 035in Pollicis | eBay

So I then bought this SET:
Hex Driver Set 7pc Pollicis in Tube | eBay

And the hex that fits is the second smallest, which, according to the set description, is .035"...:-x...so obviously one is labeled wrong...I'll let you know what I find out from the seller.
