I think the Igo-S should get more love than it does. Essentially it is very similar to the Cyclone in vape quality. The base is actually inter changeable with the Cyclone top cap and it is SS. No, it's not as pretty and not as well made but the vape is excellent. One caveat, if you enlarge the air hole be careful when you sqounk. The hole is quite low and if over squonked juice will come out.

Personally, the performance of both are pretty close. I'd give the RM2 an edge in flavor and throat hit on single micro coil builds but it is really close between them. I find the RM2 easier to build too. The close posts of the Cyclone don't play well with longish micro coils.

I do not think the AFC cap of the Cyclone works as well as the stock cap if you are just running a single coil micro coil. The AFC top cap increases the chamber size a bit and I notice a loss of flavor when I use it.

IMO get the Cyclone only if you want a dual coil setup, don't like brass or if you really really like its looks. If performance on a single coil is all you want, then an RM2 will do the job well at a fraction of the cost.

I have replaced my rm2's with cyclones because I got a bug up my .... about the aesthetically pleasing lines of the cyclone.

Plus with the afc I can close the holes off so any extra liquid doesn't leak out.
It does feel easier to squonk, but not by much.
Basically... Get both, and make the call for yourself. They're both great :D

I picked up a cyclone with afc and standard caps from chowderhead, super fast shipping and he included some ken doh to try which I'm pretty thrilled with, my ready wick has gone to the way side now.

I built a quick dual coil and was impressed with the cyclone, then replaced it with a quad twisted 32 gauge single coil measuring at .68 and I'm still loving it. Tried the non afc cap and it a really warm wet flavorful vape, afc cap is flavorful but cooler not as thick damp flavor, but it also pumps the air flow in so it makes for shorter draws unless lung hitting (which I really don't do) but the thing is I like the slightly cooler but still flavorful vape, and with the single coil on the afc if I close off one of the air ports I still get a thick tastes vape that's not as hot as the standard cap so I'm a happy guy.

Overall I'm thrilled with this latest buy and chowderhead made for a great buying experience!

I've got both and I prefer the Cyclone. My theory is, whichever you got first is the one you'll prefer. The main reason I like the Cyclone more is because the juice enters at a higher level and leaves more in the atty when excess is sucked back in the bottle. This allows for more vapes per squonk. There are other differences I prefer but that is the main one. Here are some of them: SS construction, cap held on with orings, smaller volume of chamber, closer posts, durability and cosmetics. The RM2 vapes about the same but I don't like squonking every vape or two to keep the wick wet. It does have some Pro's over the Cyclone: ease of building coils, insulated ceramic deck, all excess juice is sucked from deck, half the price. It's just a matter of how your priorities line up, mine give the edge to the Cyclone but its easy to see why somebody else might prefer the RM2.

I've got them both and I lean towards the RM2. I build single coils, so that is a factor. Also the wire I use is thick and is hard to fit on the tiny corner the cyclone/igo provides. I also am not one for whispy airy draws, so the AFC didn't do much for me. My RM2 cap is drilled out to slightly smaller than 1/16th.

I wish I could combine the best elements of both into one super atty. SS, wide posts, push-on cap (will not leak), ceramic deck...

Have you tried the Cyclone with the standard top cap? I have heard a few people say the AFC cap was too airy... I really think that combo was meant for dual subΩ coils actually...

Yeah I've tried the regular cap but I actually preferred the igo-s at that point. If I tried regular kanthal I'm sure I'd like the cyclone more. I use Mundys magic wire, but I'm building a dual .5 ohm 28g now to shake things up.

Wow... Reading this thread has pretty much talked me out of the hunt for a cyclone.... Well that and the BF experiment I am going through. I will be modding a couple cheapo ss attys I picked up as soon as I get the setup figured out...and it isn't 115 in my workshop..lol

Anyhow, reading through this thread I really don't see the need to spend a bunch more $$ to get the cyclone...just cause I like the shiny twisty looking cap.

Thanks,
Geo

If you look at most of the negative comments on the Cyclone you should notice most of them are of the AFC cap variety. This is what led me to ask SeaNap if he had ever tried the standard cap. I myself, do have a Cyclone / non AFC. I really can't imagine a better vape actually. It is a very high quality atty. I chose it over the RM2 for a few reasons. It is all SS, has o-rings for top cap, and the aesthetics of it. It is a simple atty to work on if you have the right tools for building. There is plenty of deck space to work with. I know the RM2 has wider posts and a ceramic deck, but those are the only positives I can see it having. I didn't care for the RM2 having brass in it and the screw on cap. It seems too many people have a problem with the air hole either lining up properly and if you drill the air hole out larger it is prone to leaking out of it. I also don't care for the fact you can see the brass portion of the RM2 even when it's screwed onto the grand. It just doesn't look right to me. If there was an all SS version of the RM2 I would buy it without question. There has been conformation already that VA is running more Cyclones in the near future, but it is not confirmed that there will be AFC caps for them... I have noticed a few places that the Cyclones have started to pop up again, the price has gone up on them so be aware of that. I would highly recommend the Cyclone to anyone that is looking for an easy to use, quality BF atty on any given day...

I have the RM2, the regular cyclone and the AFC cap for the cyclone. They are both excellent atomizers. If you are into dual coils the cyclone with the AFC cap is the way to go. With a single coil I prefer the RM2 as my ADV. I usually vape coils that are between .6 and .8 ohms and prefer the vape of the RM2. Understand that this is purely my personal preference and the difference is very small. For all of you who are going crazy looking for a BF cyclone hoping to achieve a major difference in the vape I don't think you will. If you want the cyclone because of appearance or because it is SS that's a different matter. Just my opinion.

I agree with this. Cyclone + AFC running dual coils is a beast. For single coils not a big difference other than looks and all SS.

If interested in all SS the Igo on Robs site is a great little RBA for about half the cost of the Cyclone

With my afc cap, single coil at .9 ohm, I notice the vape from my unflavored is sweeter, very noticeably so. I actually thought there was some kind of residue from the previous owners juice but I boiled this bad boy and it's still sweeter. I couldn't honestly tell you why

Everyone has their preference based on various factors so probably no right or wrong answer here. I have using the Cyclone AFC I got from Chowderhead72 last Saturday, side by side with my RM2's. I started out with dual coils at about .9 and was used to a 1.5 ohm build on the Rm's. Didn't really care for it so built a triple twist single .9 and have been much happier. I like the ability to change the air flow on the Cyclone and the flavor is great. I drilled out my RM's last weekend and am really happy with the flavor and vape with those as well. I just switched them around to different Reos with juices this morning and I'm actually liking the Cyclone AFC more and more.
