Is it for real?
I suspected. Because i did a five wrap coil in it yesterdey and the burnt tast came. Then I did a six wrap (only one wrap difference, believe me) and the burn taste gone away.
The batterie I'm talking abaut is the AW 18350 700mAh IMR. She's a DEMON.
I was sub-ohmed. And it is to powerfull.
I'll give my opinion here, without offending anyone: if you don't want licking coal remains taste, I recommend you (and I'm not being paid or s**** for that commercial):

18350:

Efest IMR 800 mAh Flat - Top

Torchy IMR 850 mAh

Tungsfire 1500 mAh (yeah, chinese, but very good. I have a couple and the last five hours each)

I still like AW, but for using with Evic, for exemple.

And if you don't like 350's, even better. I recommend you Sony VTC5 (2600 mAh), Efest 35A (2500 mAh), Efest 30 A (1600 mAh), LG IMR HE2 20 A (2500 mAh). These are some examples.

I waste abaut six feet of kanthal until iI discover, by myself, that the problemem may be the battery. It gets super-hot.

Anyone did ever experienced something like that?

Does somebody do sub-ohms?

Sorry about my poor english, I'm brazilian.

You are running in dangerous territory, MrVP...
Your AW 18350 is only a 6A battery. No battery should get hot while vaping.
What size wire are you using?
What is the resistance of your build?

18350 batteries are NOT recommended for sub-ohm use. They do not have a high enough continuous amp draw rating for sub-ohm vaping.
Sony VTC5 batteries are no longer available. They are out of production. But, Xtar has a battery that is identical to the Sony VTC4. Those are 30A rated.
The Efest batteries are not truly rated for what they specify. For example, the Efest 35A is really only rated for 20A continuous.

Click on the link in my signature (below this post) where it says "Bad's Awesome Blog". There is a lot of good information there on battery safety. You NEED to read that before you do any more sub-ohm builds.

Again. The battery should NOT get hot at all... that is an indication that you are drawing too many amps through the battery. If you continue to do this you will make the battery explode.

Stay safe, my friend. Be careful and do your research. Nobody wants you to get hurt.

Yeah...... The burnt taste had nothing to do with your battery. It was the resistance of the coil. By adding a wrap to the coil you raised the resistance, thus reducing the wattage being put through it. Do you even know the resistance of your coils?? Do you know why it's important to know??

Read everything in Bad's blog (link in Kaezziel's sig line)... know and understand it.

When using 18350 batts, you shouldn't build below .9 ohms

I don't have an ohm-meter. I go by luck and imaginatinon.

I suspect you are trolling here - but if you want to vape in an unsafe manner, that is up to you. But please don't post here to encourage others to do the same.

And with all due respect, it's obvious from your original post that you have enough knowledge to get yourself in to trouble - but not enough knowledge to understand why it might be unsafe.

I strongly suggest you read the blog linked in Kaezziel's thread. It'll give you some good information.

Please, please stop right now and go do some reading. You are in dangerous territory like Equilibrium said, a good vape is not worth hurting yourself over because you wanted to "just do it". That's great for sneakers but not mechs.

Edit: And I am surprised it hasn't been said yet, but if a battery has fire in the name run.

Luck and imagination are great things to have.... unfortunately luck tends to run out first...

I trust knowledge and the advice of those who are wiser than I. That has gotten me much farther in life than luck ever has.....

And 18490? May I use with that?

Learn to use Ohm's Law... know the max continuous discharge of the battery that you are using, and use Ohm's Law to calculate what resistance your coil needs to be.
Yes, you can use an 18490, AT THE RIGHT RESISTANCE.
You NEED an ohm-meter... something/anything to tell you what your resistance is and to make sure that nothing is shorted out.
