I was -that guy- who said "I'll never use anything other than 65mm auto batts! I want to feel like I'm smoking a cig! Take your eGo's and mods and shove 'em!" Look it up, I posted a thread on it lol... Then I got over my cigarette habit and got tired of charging batts all day everyday, so I moved up to 650mah X2's. I rationalized this by telling myself "yeah, the battery is bigger, but look how big a pack of cigarettes is in comparison, the X2 is still smaller" (for those of you not into Smokeless Image, an X2 is their "eGo" with 808 threading). I've then discovered that, even though the regular X2's are "regulated to 3.7 volts" just like the 65mm's, on some devices and with certain juices the X2's were just too "hot". So now I'm using 650mah spinners exclisively with carto tanks, nano's, and T3's. Totally satisfied until..... I discovered GrimmGreen's YouTube channel and see the Lavatube V2 and think to myself "self, that's a pretty freakin awesome lookin piece of vapeness!". Here's the issue(s): I have a ton of batts I've bought over the past 5 months that would become landfill; I have a ton of devices with 808 or eGo threading that would become landfill; and I'd have to shell out a bunch of cash for the Laxatube, batts, charger, and new juice delivery systems all because that thing looks sooooooooooo freaking cool! My question to all you "pros" out there is, should I just settle down and remain satisfied with my vape-gear that is working wonderfully or, just like with the 65mm's, are 650mah spinners a phase all vapers go through before finally realizing they were "missing something" by not using a mod?

If it works for you then use it. But I know how you feel with wanting to upgrade. I started with a V2 cig-alike and in only a week I ordered two 1000 mah Twists. I am going to order a ProVari as soon as I get my tax return. The wife and I decided to treat ourselves to somthing nice and save the rest of the return, so my nice thing is the ProVari.

I don't think I am missing something with the Twist. It works great and keeps me off cigs. I want the added functionality of the ProVari, like reading resistance of attys, so I can start rebuilding stuff to save even more money.

Bottom line, if it works and you are happy then stick with it. But don't be afraid to upgrade if the urge strikes.

If it works for you and you can stick with, that's all that matters. If you want to get bigger devices that is a choice you have to make. Me personally this has become a hobby and I want all the new stuff and the high end mods and everything else that goes with them. Do I need them? No. I want them. That's all. My Spinner and Inferno both work great but I want other things.

I can relate. About two months ago I said I didn't care about regulated or variable voltage because such concerns were too convoluted...

If you upgrade, your old stuff doesn't have to become "landfill". You can keep it as backup, as well as give it away to friends or acquaintances who might want to try vaping; you can get the Lavatube and rotate. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

True enough.... In all honesty I probably would trade or give the stuff away. But in my mind the money spent would still be in the landfill lol...

i feel your pain,, but its a good pain ..

im vaping just 6 months and started with ego-c's and started using dualcoil tanks, moved on to a lava tube, mainly because i hated changing batteries all the time.
the laza tube is great, but shortly after i added zmax, and im loving it and i use both mods and only change a battery ever 24 hours.
upgraded to vivi novas with the lava and zmax.

now i experiementing with repairable attys, making wicks and coils, not sure if this is going to be good or not.

in the short term future im adding mechancil mods, waiting for a great lakes and waiting on a empire too.
and with them i plan to try dripping

so whats the deal, a couple of reasons, how else can i find out what works the best for me and what i like best, if i dont try them.
also it is sorta of a hobby now, and a learning curve too. as for the money spent, its well spent and way cheaper than analog cigs
and new vapers i know buy my ego gear so its a win win

I have eGo-C's, 510-T's, an e-Roll, a bunch of Twists in different sizes, a Provari Mini, and I just ordered a Reo. None of them are landfill because in different situations, I use all of them. The only PV I never use is the auto cig I first bought. I used it for about a week before my eGo C arrived in the mail and never again.

I'm a gadgety person anyway who likes to own the newest toy, but I also like having this many options because if I'm bored with one, I can grab one of the others. It's nice to switch it up and use something that has a different weight, feel, and vape. Most of us use more than one flavor, why shouldn't we use more than one PV?

Enjoy and stop kicking yourself. You'll probably find that you still use the PV's even if you get the LT. If not, you can sell them, trade them, give them away, or lend them to friends who still smoke and help them join the vaping revolution. :)

I love my VAMO, but I still use my Twists and even my Volt for a cig-a-like experience on short errands. It's nice to have a variety of batts to fit different purposes. I try to use all the stuff I buy until it no longer works well, including batts, atties, cartos. I also try to vape all the juice I buy so even when I go on buying binges I still get my moneys worth. It's nice knowing I'll be set for several months if I can't afford to buy anything new.

I got my start vaping with Smokeless Image cigalikes and the X2's. I was happy for not quite a month. I saw the mods that could use larger capacity cartotanks for even more carefree vaping and batteries that last an entire day.

Got a BB and a Silver Bullet. Was satisfied with them and cartotanks for a couple of months, not really interested in variable voltage. Then I visited the Altsmoke brick & mortar store in Columbus, Ohio where the owner asked to see my Silver Bullet. I had a cartotank filled with my favorite flavor.

When he returned it, he had added a Kick and extender sleeve to my Silver Bullet. Took a few puffs on my Kona Velvet Milkshake, and I was sold right then and there on variable voltage. I was tasting the flavor as it was meant to be tasted for the first time.

Soon got a Provari for variable voltage. Again thought I was content. Now all the talk is about RBA's. Although I'm not a tinkerer and like things to work out of the box, I think I can get a handle on how to build a wick and coil. I got my first rebuildable last week.

Am I done? Who knows? :D

Hey Now! Used to live in Lexington KY, and now live in Pittsburgh PA. Was once neighbors with you, now still "close" to C-Bus lol... Grimm is all about the Kick too, but from what I understand the Kick won't work with Lavatube...

That pretty LT 2.0 is also pretty expensive, IMO. Make sure that's the one you want, because this could become a long ride down the shopping trail.
I'm digging my spinner, so enjoying VV... I don't think I'd use some of the features of the Lavatube, but really like that it goes down to 3.0V. I'm finding I like the lower end of VV, and am sure I'll discover some benefits of V's above 4.8. The LT V.2 sounds like a quality piece, and just looks soooooooooooooo freaking cool!

I started with V2 cig-a-likes and went from them straight to a ProVari...lol. I have 3.7 PVs Kicked PVs, variable voltage PVs...way more than I really "need". I have discovered I can get the vapor and flavor I want from using the different ohm cartos to match the juice. A 2.0 ohm carto works very well in my 3.7 volt pipes and I find them (my pipes) to be a very relaxing way to vape. The feel of the ppipe just seems conducive to kicking back. While I still am on the lookout for new shinies, I have a Billet Box on pre-order for example, I am drawn to finding new pipes. And yes...GrimmGreen was my first intro to the e-pipes...

You don't need a kick with a lava tube, as the kick helps regulate non regulated devices and makes them vw up to 10 watts. It also adds a bit of safety that vv and vw devices already have built in.

The kick is great for some, and too low wattage for others.

You already have variable voltage in the Lavatube. Why even think about a Kick in it?
