I'm brand new to "vaping", just got my starter kit last week. Seems everyone is totally into their eGo's, X2's, Lava Tubes, and mods. For me, I don't want any part of those. I'm a smoker at heart and am totally in love with my cheap little 65mm sealed autos! They feel just like a cig. I hold it just like a cig, droop it out of my lip, even find myself "ashing" it. I use it just like a cig too: get a craving, take 4-10 puffs, then done till next craving. Using like this, even my puny little 65mm's last the whole day on one charge. I have discovered though that real tobacco does taste like poop, so I have given up on that and embraced all the flavors (really loving mint). But like I said, seems I'm the only one out there who'd take a 65mm auto with a standard carto over a VV Nova on a ProVari. Just wondering if anyone else out there digs the whole simulated cig thing still?

There are lots of people who use small form factor 'cigarette-style' e-cigs. In fact, I'll venture a guess that those devices represent the majority of PVs because of how they are marketed and for the fact that they have been around the longest... and the fact they look like a cigarette and are therefore familiar in size and shape to those who want to give vaping a try. You can pick up disposables at gas stations, truck stops, tobacco shops and online. You can find small form factor kits in mall kiosks and at flea markets. Their availability and recognize-ability are still greater than "mods". -- That is changing, but I think it will be quite some time before "mods" are understood, recognized, and marketed as well as "cig-a-likes".

Don't ever close your mind to other things, but you do whatever works for you because that's all that matters.
Definitely keeping an open mind (after all I am now willing to admit that vaping mint tastes so much better than smoking (or vaping) tobacco). And I'm thinking about picking up an X2 and a C4 clearo just for sh!ts-and-giggles, but don't see myself ever using it on break at work, or whipping it out of my pocket in the car... lol so seems I am the only one after-all lol

I like my 808s. I still use the PT in my car sometimes, but for a carry around device, I got frustrated with cartos and long story short, got me a REO and love it. I went to a local head shop once just to see if they might carry any ecig stuff (they don't) and noticed that many of the smoking devices they sold looked like metal cigarettes. Just something to think about.

You are not the only one, I bought my first kit which was a joye 510, 65mm manual batteries. Tomorrow will be 2 months since my last cig. I do enjoy the small feel and look alike to a cigarette, and I like you started out with just 1 charge a day. Now however it seems I have to switch batteries about 3 times to get through the day and night. So far I think I have a total investment of about 75.00, So i not only am a whole lot more healthy, but I have saved some dough. I am considering a mini ego for at home usage though, or to have some more battery life on road trips. I am a firm believer that you can save a ton of money with an ecig, it is all about self control and not buying every new thing that comes out. I will say however that some people struggle with it more and need something that suits their needs, and have to try many different setups. I just got lucky in that aspect I guess..

You will find that most of the veterans on the site started off with cig style PV's. After a while most of them like myself move on. We no longer need it to look and feel like a cigarette. Now we want the best flavor, the most reliability, the longest lasting batteries, the least amount of hassle.

I also think that most of us started out like you and then had "one of those days" or even "one of those weeks". What I mean by this is that with the small cig like devices you will eventually have days were nothing seems to work. Your batteries and atties or carts will either die or taste like garbage. They will eventually leave you hanging and usually when you need them the most.

I have seen it so many times with friends of mine that it's really getting old. I have been vaping for over 3 years. Almost everyone I know started out on cig size VP's. I don't know a single person who has been successful using them over a long period of time. Not one. They either fall off the wagon or step up.

When yours break down and they will, they all do, you will have a choice to make. Buy another set that broke down or buy something that works better, a lot better. By then you will most likely be over your need for it to feel like a cig.

Actually, with the math I've done, I'm going to be spending about double to vape as I did smoking (parts, shipping, etc). This is because I rolled my own cigs (again by my math, for about $.80 per pack). From everything I can find, vaping is less effective than smoking at transferring nic into the bloodstream, so all things figured, that's where I'm getting my guess at double the cost. However, I've only been vaping for less than a week and no more hacking, no more constant wheezing, no more constant clearing my throat. So all-in-all, I figure that's worth an extra $.80!!!

HOPS, I've been vaping for a year and 1/2, and like so many others here, gave up on the cig-a-likes after 2 weeks. I ordered 2 kits initially, and even with my 4 batteries, I was forced to be close to a charger ... all the time. Then I stepped up to an Ego. At first the battery did seem big, but that was short-lived. Then I got a mod. Then another, and another.

At this point in time, I own WAY too many devices (but love each and every one of them). All that said, once in a blue moon I still feel the need for a cig-a-like and I actually will pull out the little ol' Blu and give it a vape or two. An almost lifetime of smoking cigs did create patterns that are firmly etched in my psyche I suppose.

I highly doubt you are the only one who likes that form factor. :) I also suspect that there is a great possibility that eventually you may want to step up to a different sized batt. Until then, enjoy the 65mm auto!

Happy Vapes to all~

There's lots of people like you out in the wild, but you won't find many of them here.
:)

I think your main concern is going to be paying for those prefilled cartridges.
If you don't mind that, and two batteries can last you all day, you should be fine.

But if you ever decide that prefilled cartridges cost too much...

So, I should expect problems from my SI Volts? I mean, it's not like I've got blu's or SafeCigs... I realize they are batts and will not last forever so I already have some spare 65's stashed, and I'm transitioning to CE3's... So again, it's not like I have drug store garbage...

Just make sure you have enough spares. The small batteries don't last long...vaping is hard on them.

Also don't feel bad. I've been vaping for over 2 years. Even build my own mods and such. But I still have a 510 sitting on the desk here in front of me. lol. Every once in a while... I miss the form factor aspect of it.

It's not all-or-nothing, one-way-only. There are options. That's what's cool. Do what works for you.

Almost every single vapor here, with little(but a few) exception, said the exact same thing you are saying at first. The "cig-a-like" is a necessary step to transitioning from cigarettes to e-cigs.

For most people though, once they have put the cigarettes behind them, they find themselves thinking, "I wish the battery lasted longer" or "I wish I didn't have to charge them so often". That is when the eGo's and bigger battery types come in.
Some people stop at this point and are very happy. Others say to themselves, "I wish I got more vapor" or "I wish the flavor was a little stronger"... And that is where mods come in.
Since they are used to a bigger mod like the eGo at this point, the shape of a mod doesn't seem as far fetched as before... Then of course there is the progression of standard mod to regulated mod to VV or feeder, etc...

You read peoples stories on here, almost all of them go that way, in some variation. Even I once LOVED my Vapor4Life kit, and it was all I wanted, but now here I am, vaping away on a Provari with a rebuildable atomizer.

First, quitting is different than continuing to vape. You can quit on any mod...

I did 808ds for a year and found I like vaping a ton... Never was going to quit... 65mm... then you realize 78 has more power... then you try Bloog 102mm manuals for that special high nic treat... I had 8 bats charging all the time... Tired of the hassle... Finally, : 2 ego twists, vivi nova/mini, rewicked with coils and DIY=hassle free and really low cost.

It's progressive... The less you vape in general and the more you just want to hurry up and quit it all, the more the real cig thing works...

There's kind of a general pattern:

Start: real cig, prefilled cig taste cartos... "I'll never move to mods, DIY, buying my own juice! This is good enough for me!"
Cig cartos taste like crap... let me try fruit ones....
I'll save money refilling--I'll buy the juice
This recharging is a hassle bigger bats...
Clearomizers? What are those--let me try some...wow, they taste better than cartos
Make my own juice and save a fortune!? I wish I had done this earlier...
Variable voltage? I can adjust the volts to my delivery system--no more juice burning. Cool!

Like that... + or -
