In this thread I would like participants to discuss coil builds that present inherently dangerous characteristics.
I will start;
CFL coils, look at any CFL light bulb in your house and you get the idea.
This coil type is not particularly difficult to build however it presents a great deal of difficulty in mounting.
This coil must be of the open coil sort where no portion of the coil ever comes into contact with another portion of the coil.
Failure of any coil to remain out of contact with another will result in a short, the severity of the short depends greatly on where the short occurs.
A short near the base being the most dangerous.
