Now I'm laughing! because you looked at the post because it said dangerous...

Here's the question though... when mixing DIY juice, are the chemicals PG and VG the only two one could use, or would a mixture of, say, watered down light corn syrup serve well as a base...

Could be dangerous if tried, being that I'm certain the sugar would cake up on the coils, however, has anyone got suggestions? Other than DON'T Do that.. because I hate being told that something isn't possible. I'me one of those annoying people who will try almost anything to prove someone wrong...

Don't think Ill of me, I'm just eager to experiment :D

As you requested I'm not going to tell you not to do that so be dangerious and try it. Let us know how it works out for ya.

But joking aside, Corn syrup no not good. Your right it will carmalize and cake your coils and depending on what other preservitives and additives are in it can also poison you. If you want to make the base sweeter use sweetener or more VG.

The common bases are PG/VG and you can add water/saline/PGA to thin it.

I say DON'T do it!!!
Not preachin', really don't know what would happen.......but if you succeed, then the FDA would try to regulate corn syrup as well. But seriously though e-cigs in general are under enough scrutiny already. I just think that adding more variables to the mix would make things harder for our legal supporters.
Also, with something like corn syrup, or oil you could be causing damage to yourself and not know it for a while.
But if you must, then you must!!! Good Luck, and do report back:)

Ok, so the people here have (dry) senses of humor. To answer some questions, im looking to start mixing, and merely acquiring research on alternatives, or potential alternatives to a juice that is composed of PG, VG, or some combination of the two.

Well some people use VG and distilled water. I've never done this so I will leave recommendations for ratios to somebody that has. May I ask why you don't want to just use pg/vg??

ETA: I guess you already answered that question, so disregard. I would personally recommend just starting with pg/vg.

So, you're looking for a different compound that is an alcohol, like PG and VG, and has the same range of boiling point as PG VG, but is not PG or VG? Also it has a similar density somewhere between PG and VG while being commonly available in pharmaceutical grade? PEG400 comes close.

After that, I have no idea of any other alcohols that meet the requirements to work in vaping hardware. (That might be because the hardware everything is currently based on was designed to work with PG?)
