Recipe help needed Please

Hey folks I'm new to DIY liquid and could use some help on 2 recipe's. One a good Caramel that actually tastes like caramel, and the other Belgian waffles and Maple syrup. Ill be making test batches in 3ml, no nic to start off till I find what I like. Any and all help much appreciated. I have LA Caramel, TFA Belgian waffle and TFA Maple Syrup to use, if these aren't good please let me know what would be better. Of if they are better with another flavor added.

Personally I like FlavourArt caramel. You could even mix a little vanilla classic or a touch of butterscotch in there to bump the flavor a notch. I'm sorry to throw other vendors but haven't worked with the ones you have. :/

I'm open for buying other venders flavorings so no problem there, just need some info on what folks are using to get an honest caramel. I have tried several from the net and none taste even remotely like caramel. One recipe I tried reminded me of a dusty attic. slightly musty. I have the ones tried doing the steeping deal, but I honestly think it would take an act from God to make them taste any better.
