I'm the same way when I find a good show. I go on a watching binge and watch several episodes in a row. Often times, until I can't keep my eyes open any longer or I get a headache from staring at my monitor. lol

I know how that is. The husband and I did not starting watching lost until the 4th season. We sat there for days on end watching season 1 - 3. We started about a month or so before the 4th season was supposed to start. Before we started we thought we wouldn't be done in time. We basically did nothing but eat, shower and watch lost!

My friend actually flew out from Atlanta last summer and we sat here and had a Greys Anatomy marathon. We had never watched before but got every episode of every season in before she left. We have'nt missed an episode since.

It is really easy to get addicted to show and more so if you are watching one episode after another instead of waiting for a week. The problem is now a days they cancel a good series just when you are getting into it. Still can't believe they canceled the 4400!

Same way I get all them series my daughter likes watching. She watches season after season. I can only remember "The Sopranos", "Angel", oh and "lost". The only one I've seen a couple of is "The Sopranos".

5card, I never took you as an 'Angel' sort of guy! You are talking Buffy Angel aren't you? That was one of my guilty pleasures that I usually don't share with others and waited until the hubby went to sleep to watch! That is the reason I started watching Bones! Except he never turns into evil angel on that show so it isn't as good. And if you are not talking about the same Angel, disregard and forget everything you just read!

I want to watch The Soprano's. I'll get around to it eventually. I started watching Mad Men a bit ago. Not bad but not what I was expecting.

I did that to. lol We had 1-3 on disc and I watched them all in a few days. I ended up getting bored and stopped watching season 4 because they never answered the questions that were posed.

Caprica (prequel to Battlestar Galactica) was another good show that got cancelled too soon. That's the Syfy channel for ya though. They cancel the good shows and keep wrestling on, which isn't remotely scifi related.

I watched the Falling Skies series on TNT and that show is awesome. I'm also watching Breaking Bad, another good show. Looking forward to the new season of The Walking Dead this fall as well.

I could not believe they cancelled Caprica, and the way they did it kind of stunk, it seemed like they were starting a new season and instead it was like just a few episodes to wrap things up. Yet, aside from wrestling, they still keep shows on like Wharehouse 13!

Mad Men is OK, it is just very very slow! But it is an interesting look at that time period (which we both missed) Falling Skies was really good, bummer we'll have to wait almost a year for it to come back on (assuming it does). They should make that a regular season show.

Have you checked out Haven on Syfy or Torchwood on starz?

Haven't seen Haven but I've watched all of Torchwood.

I never caught the original torchwoods on BBC, but the new one on starz seems cool so far.

I am addicted to deadliest catch and true blood now. I use to love Buffy and Angels shhhhh don't tell oh and charmed.

I was a closet buffy and angel fan. Everybody has to have 1 or 2 guilty pleasures and I think david boreanaz is completely adorable, even on bones. Have you caught any of the vampire diaries. It has that same this is pretty cool as long as no one catches me watching it quality!

Oh and I've read all of RR Martins stuff since about the time feast for crows came out ~4 years ago. Game of thrones was simply superb with the book adaptation.

I love Dr. Who as well. My desk at work is sporting 2 tardis ;)

Great to hear that you are enjoying your BP Paddrino!! And forgive us for the derail...it's a tradition around here ;)

I was a big Deadliest Catch fan until Capt Phil died. After that I just didn't enjoy watching it anymore. One of my guilty pleasures is Ice Road Truckers. I think of Poppa D when I watch that show LOL!

Great now I am gonna have to check out the Vampire Diaries :) Something about those fangs lol

If you like Buffy and Angel and vampire stuff, it is good. It does have a back story so you will have to watch the 2 seasons before (I'm pretty sure there were two unless they just broke up season one with a long break) or you might be a bit lost! The guy that plays the bad boy vampire was on lost.

Game of Thrones was fantastic. One of the best shows in a long time. Good story, fantastic production. Another win for HBO

Im pretty into Boardwalk empire too. Its starts again in about a month.

Game of Thrones was awesome. I think it is my favorite out of anything that has been on lately. Can't believe I forgot about when we were discussing good shows. I was wondering when Boardwalk Empire was coming back on... Steve Buscemi is doing such a good acting job!

The Buzz Pro is awesome, you will enjoy it!

I got the first book and wanted to read it before Game of Thrones started on TV, but was really busy and didn't get past the first chapter. I really need to pick it up again.

Camelot on Starz was really good to. But I love anything book, TV or movie that has to do with King Arthur. The Mists of Avalon (book not movie) got me started on that!

I only started watching Dr. Who this past April. I have been recording them off the BBC channel and I think I have watched every episode but I believe one going back to 2005. And the one I haven't seen is the one where David Tenant "dies" and the new guy takes over. And I really want to see that one as I really want to know what happened. I'm not sure if I like Dr Who with the new guy, David Tenant is SO much cooler! Even the guy before him was cool. I'll have to watch a few more episodes when it comes back on and give the new Dr a chance.

In an interview with on the Graham Norton show, it sounded like David Tenant was going to do some work here in the states!

You can watch all of the original Torchwood on Netflix. I didn't realize there was a new one, I'll have to check it out. Camelot was really good as well.

I'll have to check them out. The only one I have seen is the new series on Starz, so I don't know if this one is better or worse. I imagine, because the BBC is always a little cheap with special effects that the one on starz has a little extra flare!

Missed a lot here ~

Ditto GOT, read the whole series, amazing story lines.

Hooked on True Blood - Dexter - Shameless - White Collar - Leverage - Falling Skies - oooh and Alphas

For the best LOL's - Big Band and Modern Family !!!!

So do you think watching the first season on TV will take anything away from the books when I get around to reading them?

How can you not like Dexter? That is another series that I had my own private marathon catching up on!

I love White Collar to, but I have a feeling my reasons for watching it are different then yours!

And yes, I watch entirely too much TV, but often my job requires me to stay up till sunrise uploading and downloading files and changing websites. I would rather read, but it is hard to use the computer and read, so I usually always have something from the DVR playing. And when there is nothing new on, I'll find an old series I haven't watched and record those. This summer it was doctor who and American chopper. Not much on reality TV but they make really sweet bikes!

You mean Diahann Carroll ??? Oh, Neil OK too :pervy:

It's always better to read the books first. There are a couple of spoilers in the first season. So....

I think maybe Mozzie is my favorite.

Yeah, I wish I had some patience and waited until I got through the book, but I really wanted to watch it and it is easier to watch TV while designing a web site then read, so I broke my cardinal rule... always read the book first! There are a bunch of books in the series and we have the better part of a year before it comes back on, so my goal will be to be done reading the entire series before it comes back on TV. I was very surprised how close the TV series was to the book. But that of course was only the first 5 minutes or so compared to the first chapter or so!

Well if Mozzie is your favorite then we definately are not watching for the same reason! Neil is my weekly eye candy! Doesn't matter if it is a good show or not I would still watch it. They do not even need a plot for me to tune in!

Took the book out and I am going to start it today!!! How far into the book did the first season go? I assume season one did not cover the entire book.

As long as we are talking sci/fantasy, anybody ever read Steven Kings Dark Tower series? The Gunslinger is epic!!!! (and I am not a huge king fan, usually he is OK, and a good read for a plane, but these books are so far removed from what he usually does, they are in a class of their own)
