Mini Davide Glassomizer

The box contained the mini glassomizer, with a 2.2ohm atomizer head installed. Came with extra 1ea 1.8ohm and 1 ea 2.5ohm heads.

Of course, I took the whole thing apart. It all breaks down to drip tip, top glass cap, bottom glass cap, glass, center tube, removable atomizer sleeve with the head inside. The lower sleeve is a ego style connector. There is no 510 connection on this glassomizer. So if your PV only has the 510 connection, you are out of luck.

The lower sleeve, with the atomizer inside, was difficult to get back on the first couple of times, testing it. A look at the threads with my Optivisor, show that the first thread on the male portion on the sleeve, are not smooth at all. But after a couple of times taking it apart it got easier to start. At first it wanted to cross thread. All the rest of the threading, center tube, top and bottom caps were fine.

I put it back together, except for the sleeve with atomizer in it. I put a couple of drops of juice on the wicks. The sleeve has a little moat around it. I set the sleeve down with the head facing up, and put a couple of drops in the moat for the wicks. I then proceeded to fill the tank. It has three fill holes. They are very very small. The juice I was using, is a 50/50. Straight from the bottle, I could do one drop at a time. With one of my 3mil syringes, it took no time at all.

Filled tank, prewetted wick, and screwed the sleeve back on to the bottom glass cap. I held the bottom cap while screwing the sleeve on. If you hold onto the tank, the center tube will tightened up even more. I don't want to blow out the o-rings, any earlier than I have to. I doubt, I could find any replacements. Speaking of o-rings, I hate clear silicone o-rings. I like good rubber ones. I think they last longer.

I let the tank sit on my twist for 10 minutes before taking a hit. Well, really really airy. The sleeve comes with 3 holes. I covered one with tape. Still too airy. I covered the 2nd with tape. A lot better, but still more airy than my Phiniac Skinny Minny with a 2.2ohm, Boge carto, slotted by me. I covered the 3rd hole with tape. No draw, so it looks like covering two holes is it. I will probably cover 2 of the holes with a dab of silicone.

The vape was good. I am not an authority on vaping so I won't try describe it, except to say it is airy and not dry or having a burn hit. I did not take out the 3rd small wick. I left it in.

I next tried it on my Zmax V3 Flatop. It was set at 4.0 volts. A little higher than the twist puts out. Also, this is not a clone twist, but an Joyetech Ego-c Twist. The hit was actually better on the Twist, than on the V3. One thing. If you use this on a PV like the V3, you need to Noalox the threads on the inside of the sleeve. The first time I used it on the V3, the bottom sleeve stayed on the V3. Had to turn it upside down, so I would not spill juice. I Noaloxed the sleeve and no problem since.

I tried to take off the supplied drip tip after I vaped a while. I could not get it off. It came off easy, when I first took it out of the box. But not now. It is a double o-ringed tip. Now, I don't have any special drip tips, they are all clear plastic. But I wanted to try anyway. One thing I noticed, when trying to get off the supplied drip tip, is the whole glassomizer seems a little fragile. The whole thing would rock, trying to take off the tip. So I left it on. I will worry about it the first time I clean it.

DO you recommend cleaning it with alcohol or anything for the first time?

Thanks

I haven't tried the Davide Mini. I do have the full-sized Davide and I'm a big fan of it. Probably not quite the build quality of the Protank 2, but it works well for me. Great vapor, flavor and TH. I will continue to use my Davide in addition to the Protanks.

Does the Davide have the draw like the original Protank? I bought the Protank 2 but didn't like the stiffer draw so I swapped out the bases from my original Protank...Perfect both ways! Gives me that airy draw I like and on the protank just stiffs it up a little.

I want to try the Davide but not if has a stiff draw.

Thanks!

Great Review.

Word of Caution to new owners:

The over sized support in the base of the tank can cause liquid flow issues. As discovered in a new members forum post:

Air can become trapped between the base support and wick leading to a dry wick condition.

This only happens in a more vertical vaping position
This can be avoided by tipping the tank to about 45 degrees when in use

Tilting allows Air to move to the highest opening (3 holes) and enter the main tank area, replacing spent liquid.

Vape On!:)

I just got both a mini Davide for my eGo and the regular 3ml model for my Provari. Been trying both this evening. Very, very good. Nice vape. Disassembled both for cleaning, everything seems well built and all fits together with tight tolerances. Pyrex glass is nice and thick. Works very well, no complaints. This will be replacing my Kanger MT3s and "enhancing" the tanks I plug into my Provari. I'm very pleased.

This mini glassomizer is awesome or at least the one I received is. I've been vapping on it for about a week now using the 1.8ohm coil. I've had zero issues no leaking no burnt hits. I have even vaped the tank dry and didn't get a dry hit. You should not fill this to.the top you need to leave some room for air to escape and allow proper wicking to.occur. I am getting another one plus its big brother. The draw is not to airy and again I feel this draw subject is because a lot of people are trying to get that exact cigarette type feel and I don't think that will happen with the bcc units until one is made with a juice and air flow control.

I just received my Davide Mini in the mail earlier today, so I thought I would post my impressions so far.

First off, I'm not nearly the expert on different models as many other members here and I do not have any experience with the Protank that everyone has been comparing to the Davide. I bought the Davide Mini as an upgrade from my CE5 clearomizer because I wanted something that was fed from the bottom rather than through long wicks, but I wanted to keep using my Vision Spinner battery.

I had a little bit of difficulty with it right out of the box. Filling it up was not an issue, since the bottle I have at my office has a "needle" tip and could easily fit inside the little holes at the base of the tank. The issue was that when I put it on the battery and tried to take a hit, there was no vapor production despite the battery working fine. After fiddling with the Davide a bit, I did manage to get it working. What ended up doing the trick was using the round bend of a paper clip as a screw driver to tighten the core through the bottom, where the threads are to screw on to the battery. So, apparently this model (or at least this particular one) is finicky about how tight things need to be. Like I said, though, I got it working, so... no harm, no foul.

As described by the OP, the draw is somewhat "airy." Unlike the OP, though, I don't necessarily find this to be a bad thing. Compared to my old CE5, the draw feels smooth, clean, and (most importantly to me) quiet. By "clean," I mean that there is no hint of the burned taste that I used to get on my CE5, even with a brand new core.

I'm impressed with the vapor production, even at low voltage (3.3v). By comparison, to get the same amount of vapor that the Davide produces at 3.3v from my CE5, I'd have to set the voltage to about 4.0v.

Since my Vision Spinner battery is pretty light-weight, my e-cig feels a bit top-heavy now, since the Davide's tank is made of Pyrex and the remaining pieces are all metal.

The top-heaviness notwithstanding, I'm pretty happy with it so far, now that the initial kinks seem have been worked out. I think it looks pretty classy and it draws well. There may or may not be better glassomizers out there-- I'm just not familiar enough with other models to say. That being said, I think it was a pretty good purchase for the price.

If I have any additional feedback after some more use, I'll post it here.

I got the Davide King model recently and have used it now for 3 days straight and I bought two with major problems with the first one. As for the second one I disassembled and soaked in dawn and water for a while then rinsed it completely and let it air dry over night. Filled it from the bottom then discovered it had a method of doing it from the top which once figured out is really easier to do on the move. At any rate it has worked like a champ since then with a draw like I prefer, kind of easy and a cool vape. Now mine uses the Aspire BDC coils which I have in abundance since I use almost all of the Aspire line. I've been pleasantly surprised by it performance with either my Vamo 5 or Lambo 6 in power mode at 7 to 10 watts.

Now the first one when I took it apart one of the small O rings fell out in two pieces. I cleaned as I did the first but no O ring that size in the package but 1 of the medium size and 4 of large ones. When I put it back together it leaked like a sieve so I emptied it and started checking with the vendor I got it from. A day later they sent me some detail pictures of all the pieces with the O rings in place and from that I found that I had two missing, but only had one on hand. They didn't have extra so I bought another and this one is the one I used. Now when I got the second one it had the O rings in the box so I put the first one back together with the O rings and it works fine now also with one exception. The center post doesn't turn the bottom any longer as the plastic part is stripped no. Once I got it open to fill it I left it there. Now doing that doesn't allow filling from the top any longer so it is reduced to a bottom loader only but works great even with that.

I haven't tried the mini yet but I am considering it for sure.
