I'm Don, and I'm brand new to vaping. Smoked analogs off and on for many years (even though I've had asthma my whole life), and I believe I've finally come across the answer to quitting for good.

Well, I just got my Joye eGo this afternoon, and I LOVE IT!!! I bought two kits through cignot.com (one for me and one for my girlfriend) and neither one has been set down yet. Neither one of us like the Marlb high carts that came with it (or the USA mix 16 mg we got for her) but, thanks to all the wonderful advice from people on this site, I knew how to take out the filler, clean and dry it, and replace the fluid with the menthol (6 mg) I bought. AWESOME!!! Plenty of TH and lots of vapor...We're sold!!!

The only problem I see now is what juices to try. Should I by pre-mixed or learn to mix my own? What supplies do I need? What's the ratio (VG:flavor)? How long does juice last (til it expires)? I can't afford to spend much and I want to get the best value for my $$$.

Anyway...lol...I'm thrilled to finally be done with analogs!!! Haven't even wanted one since I got my eGo!!! I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship....

Welcome and congrats! I understand how you feel. Do yourself a favor and read as much as you can. I have learned so much and everyone is very helpful.
I personally like the all VG juices but that is just my preference. I love cignot and the juice I have ordered ( nport 16 mg VG and vanilla 16 mg VG) I have been very happy with. I have learned that liquid is completely touch and go. You never know if you are going to like it. Maybe samples are the way to go:)

Congrats on the one day not smoking. Really the juice part is trial and error. I would suggest reading the juice review section of the forum to get a idea of what you might want to try. I wouldnt get any large quantities till you find out what you like. Alot of places have samplers which is a good way to find the flavors you really like. PG = more throat hit less vapor VG= more vapor less throat hit. Really hard to say what would be best for you. Personally i found i like a 50/50 mix on it. Just one of those things you have to try different combos to find your preference.

Re the juice: Don't think you need just tobacco flavors. I think we all assume we need something that tastes "just like a ....." whatever brand we used to smoke. Bottom line is, there are so many great flavors that if I had a flavor that tasted like a Marlboro Gold, I'd throw it away. Ha. Actually, no problem because they don't make a flavor for "stinky burning chemicals" so we're good.

funny you should mention it: I just bought this kit from electronic ash (an ECF approved vendor) about two minutes ago. It contains enough e liquid, accessories and plain pg to get started with (use the coupon code "ecigforum" to get some % off and it ends up being about $20 w/ free shipping!):
Unflavored e-Liquid 54mg (60ml) mixing kit - $22.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

all you need to do is find some flavorings that you'd like to add! A lot of suppliers sell them, just shop around.

so here's what you do:
*wear gloves (just in case, this is 54mg juice we're dealing with here
*do some math -- (5ml of juice at 54mg) + (5ml of plain pg) = (10ml of 27mg unflavored e-liquid) add a ml or so of flavor to taste and you have some strong flavorful juice going on! Of course you could add more pg and less e juice if you want a lower mg product too.

Congratulations! Awesome! I'm always happy when another smoker switches over from the dark side and joins us. :)

The best advice I can give you is to stick with it and don't allow little roadblocks (like equipment malfunctions...bad juice...etc) to stop you. Also, I recommend getting a KR808 as a backup just in case you have some issues. KR808's are the easiest to use (IMHO) and are always there for you in a pinch. V4L and V2Cigs both are good KR808 vendors with good batteries and both have great customer service. V4L's pre-filled cartomizers and juice are nasty, in my opinion, but you can always rinse them out and put different juice in the cartomizers.

I've tried juice from three different vendors: FreedomSmokeUSA, Viking Vapor, and Backwoods Brew. While Viking Vapor is good, I much prefer FSUSA and Backwoods Brew. Backwoods Brew has the BEST tobacco flavors...ever. Don is a genius and all-around great guy. I've never heard anyone say anything negative about his juices, and I love all of the ones I've purchased from him with the exception of the Virginia, which tastes too much like an analog for me. (Although I can't say that I really remember what one tastes like, anymore!)

Again, welcome to the family and I wish you and your girl happy vaping! :)

Glad you're here!

Isn't it funny how we used to pick up a pack of smokes without thinking about them? What did they really taste like anyway? After vaping for over a month now, I bummed an analog from someone and nearly gagged. This is so much more of a hobby. I feel less stressed about it than I did with analogs. I'd panic if I got down to under half a pack when I was on my way to work and didn't have time to stop for more. Now I carry my little supply case with me and know I'm good to go for the day, and for soooo much less than I used to spend. And the different flavors! Ohhhh... When's the last time an analog tasted like a Jolly Rancher? Never, that's when. Plus I don't stink. I can vape indoors, and with winter coming that's a huge plus as I live in a non-smoking apartment.

Not to mention how much better I feel physically. Yup, this is an awesome thing.

Hope you enjoy the ride as much as I have!

Hi and welcome to the great world of vaping, you may find as I have and several others I have talked to thought we needed juice that tasted like tobacco but to my surprise it was the sweet flavors that finally did it for me. Two suppliers I have used are www.freedomsmoke.com and Wet Your Stick E-Liquid . Both have inexpensive and very quick shipping and sell sample bottles, don't be afraid to try non traditional flavors. You may be pleasantly surprised and find some that really hit the spot, they also sell in different levels of nicotine, everyone is different in what works for them, just stay open to it.

Happy vaping!!!!!!!!!!
