I'm kind of psychologically addicted to cigarettes.

I used to smoke half pack a day. Been vaping for a year. Down to 3 a day, 4 days a week.

See, I only smoke when I'm at work. And it's like, my heads all, I must have this cigarette or the day is going to go horribly. I must have this cigarette or I won't be able to get through the day.

If I really listened to myself I'd just vape, but I just can't let those go.

So I feel you. You'll get there, one less stick at a time. Be as aggressive as your psyche can handle, don't over push yourself. Let the vape become more enjoyable than the cigarette and you'll get there.

    Good luck :)

I just started vaping 3 weeks ago. I was smoking over a pack a day and now I'm down to two cigarettes a day. Some days I feel bad but then I think about it and I can taste again, I can breathe again and I'm just going to let it happen. Some days I only have one cigarette and some days I have 3. I will get there. I just bought some new flavors that will definitely help. It helps a lot to be on this forum because everybody is so supportive.

You'll get there. It wasn't hard to quit for me, but what did it was when I went to hang out with my smoking buddies, the less and less cigarettes I had the worse it tasted and the less I liked it. I had quit when I started dating my girlfriend, who's mother had finished chemotherapy at the time, so I would still have a smoke when out with my friends until I lost the taste for them.

I still crave the ritual of smoking and think about them when they're in range, which lead me to vaping. You might just lose the taste for them as time goes on like it happened to me.

Maybe try some NETS and then if that still is not enough try some WTA juice. If you want a bold tobacco with a killer thought hit some Mountain Oak Vapor Apache might just be for you. Ethervapes and naturally-extracted-tobacco.com have more laid back on the thought hit stuff. The Ethervape Eclipse and NET.com Black Cavendish are very similar and very tasty vanilla high end pipe tobacco tasting. naturally-extracted-tobacco.com sent me a sample of the minister with my order and I am really diggin it. If you try a NET and you like it theres a everything NET post here that ranks the providers.

My Current go to is a 50|50% mix of nicotockets ACB and Radioactive. ACB is a Very creamy tobacco and Radioactive is a slightly creamy tobacco. At the 50\50 the balance out,

Should I get a higher concentration?

Yes! There is absolutely no reason not to go higher. Try 36 - 45mg. You can always regulate your intake. Coming from smoking your body has adapted to nicotine (most likely, and since you're here and trying to quit, you probably smoked quite a bit). Some people want to decrease their intake of nicotine because they think they are dependent on it, That's totally fiction. If you take too much, you'll barf. So what? Didn't you barf after your first cigarette? This hysteria, that people should 'work' to get their nicotine intake down when there is no really good reason to do so really bothers me. You're not dependent on nicotine, except maybe psychologically. If you think a higher nicotine dose will help you get off the cancer sticks, then go for it.

OK, I found the article from "Nature". Here is the critical conclusion... the article will be inserted as an in-line link....

"Based on the results of this study, showing very low levels of nicotine absorption from using ECs in a similar way to smoking one tobacco cigarette, it seems that nicotine levels in EC liquids should be close to 50 mg/ml in order to approximate nicotine delivery from smoking. This could also result in reduced daily EC use and liquid consumption, since the amount of nicotine needed by each user could be obtained by reducing the time and intensity of EC use.".. Bold face, mine.

This, I think, is the rational approach for harm reduction. The nonsense about lowering nicotine levels while abstaining from cigarettes seems like a lofty goal, but it really doesn't make any sense. If nicotine is harmless (in sub-toxic doses) then why, if you believe that nicotine is involved in your smoking habit, would you use a lower concentration of nicotine than you were getting from tobacco smoke? I don't know, but this study represents a rational start. BTW, I'd give my right testicle to get a paper published in this journal!

50mg/ml seems a bit high and even potentially dangerous to openly handle without precautions. I would take this information with a grain of salt, I am by no means all knowing, but I don't know of any juice besides bases that specifically say "dilute before use" that are in that high of concentrations. I've seen all the way up to 32mg/ml, but no 50mg/ml. (Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. :thumb:)

I m exactly like you Expresso--I cannot relate to the guy who picks up a vape and throws the cigges away--and I have a friend who was a long time smoker and I watched him do it. It made me so mad! I am his boss--I fixed him up with some gear and he threw the analogs away the next day.
Just as a rule of thumb--don't make the boss mad!!

I cut back drastically but just couldn't let go of the last 3 to 5 a day. I couldn't find a satisfying all day vape. Most of my juices were 18mg cause thats as high as I can get locally so I got some tobacco flavored 24mg which I had to wait for in the mail. It was terrible--it reminded me of an old wet Cigar.

I got some unflavored 24mg WTA from Aroma E-Juice--vaped it straight up. That did the trick--haven't had an analog in a month now--but more importantly--I haven't wanted one.

Don't worry about it, you will get there--just keep on vaping

Try ordering samples of various types of e-liquids from several vendors. I have no idea how many small bottles of e-liquid I have either given away or poured down the drain. But after sampling well over 100 flavors, I have twenty to thirty I enjoy.
When I first started I avoided Tobacco flavors like the plague. In my mind, I did not want to substitute tobacco, I wanted something OTHER THAN TOBACCO ! I quit smoking that day, but it wasn't easy. After 40 years of smoking, I would get withdrawals that shook me so hard it would physically turn me in my chair. But that subsided after a few days. Sweet Vapes - Caramel, Butterscotch, Vanilla, etc., were my early flavors. I liked the taste of them, and still keep sweet / bakery flavors on hand. Any flavor that keeps you off the stinkies is what you need.
Finally, do not concern yourself with "what you are saving" money wise. In two and a half years I have spent well over several thousand dollars on equipment alone. But in that same period of time I would have spent over seven thousand on cigarettes. The REAL savings is my Health - I breathe better, sleep better, eat better (I got thirty extra pounds to prove that) and I have much more energy to face the day. I LIVE better thanks to Vaping.
Do not be discouraged. Anything worth having is worth working for. Just stay with it, and you will get there.

when vaping doesnt quite cut it.... try licking. place a small drop of juice on the finger tip and lick it up. and I do mean a small drop, doesnt take much. if you did too much you will get hiccups but it does work ( for me anyway ;) )

LOL I forgot all about niccups!

Get a mouth full of juice and they wont stop, ha!
