I'm amazed at how quickly I settled into the vaping routine and out of the smoking routine. Some habits are hard to break, but smoking has to be in the top five. I'm just glad I discovered this before the government bans the things, which you know is coming.

The one weird thing I noticed is I reflexively keep going to the drawer in the kitchen where I used to keep my smokes. I'll feel like a smoke, get up and open the drawer. Then I realize I don't do that anymore. Even funnier is a few times last night, I had the vape in my hand all the while I was doing it. It is amazing how smoking trains the mind.

So far, so good. I have some concerns about inhaling nicotine laced polypropylene glycol, but it cannot be worse than smoking. I've searched around for some articles about the health issue and nothing jumps out to me. It is just the usual nonsense about there being no proof e-cigs are not bad for you. But, I'm sure there's some consequence to long term vaping. There are no free rides in this world.

Life is full of risks and not smoking removes one huge risk. For now, I'll take the PG risk if I an get off cigarettes.

between here and there
Hello again.
pg is known for use in some medical applications for lung patients.....and vg is made from vegetables, and is in our daily products...such as soap, shampoo, lotions, etc.....I know that those products are for use outside the body, but I have actually seen an improvement in my skin since I started using it....lol

Personally, I'm going to miss my smoking rituals. I have two places where I live. The first is my apartment, where during this time of the year it's very green and rains a lot. I love to go out on my balcony, light up and read a book. At my other "home" I have to dance around the fact that I smoke, so I take drives out into the country side of about 15 to 30 minutes. Listening to music and looking at the beautiful scenery is a great habit. So I figure I'll need to try and keep up with those habits when I more heavily and permanently switch to vaping. I don't want to just sit around all day on my fat .... and vape while watching cartoons or something. Lame!!!

Ah, Grasshopper, you have much more reading to do.
:)

We have passed the hurdle of having them banned.

This thread will bring you up to speed on that issue...

Our coming battles will be fought as the FDA moves forward with establishing regulations for e-cigs as tobacco products.

You can read more about that in these subforums...

Arguments can be made that not only is propylene glycol (PG) not a concern, but that it might be benficial.

It is an very good anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-viral agent.
And it has been used in hospitals for that purpose.

One thing I do know is that I haven't been sick at all since I started vaping 23 months ago.
And I personally think it is because of propylene glycol.
