DC Tank Carto Burning After Replacement

I ordered a 3.5ml DC tank and did the initial fill with no problem. It was vaping great for over a week and I was happy. I ordered a couple of pre-punched replacement cartos and decided it was time to replace the first one. I filled it just as I did with the first one, gave a nice consistent pull and got nothing but that horrible burnt flavor. I dripped a couple of extra drops into the top of the carto from the drip tip and let it sit overnight, figuring maybe it wasn't saturated enough but after a few more tries over the last couple of days, nothing has changed.

Is there any hope for this carto? Could it just be a dud?

Coulda fired it before it was soaked, once the polyfill is torched theres nothing you can do to get that burnt taste out.

Ive started syringe filling my cartos before I fill the tank. So I know its soaked before I start vaping it.

Ok, I just wanted to find out whether it was salvageable or not. Cartos are fairly cheap so not much of a loss.

I just ordered a syringe especially because now that tank is filled with juice that I can't get out without a syringe and I don't want to waste it. If it was just a ml I might not think much of it but almost 3ml is too much. : )

It's a good thing I have plenty of regular Cartos as backup.

Taking a few dry pulls b4 you push the button will help w/ saturating the pf. Some people suggest punching a 2nd hole or slicing a small slit w/ a dremmel cutting wheel, which is probably better for thick juices, but all my juice is pretty thin and works into the pre-punched hole pretty well as is.

I'll definitely do that from now on. For whatever reason in the first carto I didn't need to but I realize that is just not always the case.

I'm using the Madvapes carto tanks. I burnt a few cartos before I figured out I needed to prefill them. I put about 50 drops in the carto then put it in the tank and fill. Then some hits w/o pushing the button 'til no more bubbles come out of the hole.
