I picked this up on a comment in Dr Siegel's blog-

YouTube - CANCER CURE

The intriguing parts of this newscast are how little health means to the health industry and what they say about the cost of getting a new drug through the FDA. That's important for those here that question why it is so important not to allow the FDA to make the PV a drug and drug delivery device.

In all fairness, we should hear what the ACS has to say (read between the lines)-

More On Dichloroacetate (DCA) In Cancer Treatment

It's amazing how easily you could substitute e-cigs into that story AND into the ACS post!

"We don't know."

I can just imagine people buying DCA for themselves, off the internet, and then the FDA coming after any company who sells it for selling an "unapproved drug," based on HOW people are using it.

Hmmm....

Big Pharma can't make money = ACS saying "That’s not to say I don’t think it could work—it could, as I mentioned above—but I want to see evidence in well done trials that prove the point that DCA is effective...under what circumstances...I stand by my skepticism, while encouraging further research...caution is advised. Don’t become the victim of a...scam."

Yet, the people who really want the research done can't afford it and Big Pharma wants it to go bye-bye, so they won't fund it.

Sound familiar??

And they say Big tobacco is the bad guy.

I'm not sure who is worse.

Yes, I do - the people who are supposed to be looking out for public health.

Yup Kristin, you got it, on all fronts.

That $100m figure also puts some perspective on how crushing an FDA win in court would be and all the "health" groups know it.

That has happened with another substance whose name is not to be mentioned on this site. Since the 60s the active ingredient has been shown to reduce or stop altogether the growth of cancer cells. That can be looked up on the JAMA website.

OMG. I just went to Pub Med and used "T.H.C. Cancer" as the search terms (without the periods) There were 427 results.

Yes this has been well known since the 60s, and this is only one of many ailments it can treat. We probably shouldn't say too much more, I've already been scolded once. lol
Not only that, look at Wauwatosa, WI. They want to ban their employees from using e-cigarettes on city property and in city vehicles because it "could be confused" with a traditional cigarette!

The federal government has banned the growing of an extremely versatile, nutritious and useful plant - industrial hemp - because it looks like another plant that is smoked as an illegal drug.

Not because it is dangerous. Not because it contains chemicals to get you high (it contains such low levels as not to be easily used as a drug). But because it looks like MJ! (BTW - Wisconsin used to be a huge producer of hemp and hemp products.)

Hemp can grow in all sorts of climates. It's a great "in between" crop. It can make clothing and other textiles. It can make paper. It's seeds, oil and "milk" are considered to be the best source of the trifecta of essential fatty acids. It's more hardy and takes less pesticides than cotton. The E.U. subsidizes hemp farmers.

The U.S. makes no sense to me what-so-ever anymore. Let's ban something, not because they are dangerous, but because they look like something else.

Your preaching to the choir. lol This country has used industrial hemp since the very begining, certainly not to get high from. Canabis is where term Canvas comes from, what ship sails needed to be made from before synthetics. Also, in one crop of industrial hemp, you can produce more nutrition than an acre of soy while still being able to produce more biodiesel than soy, and without nasty pesticides and fertilizers. Less water required also. Furthermore, from the same crop you can make more fiber than an acre of cotton, and still have enough left over to produce more paper than an acre of pulp trees. And with hemp it is possible to have two crops per year. Also, it replenishes nutrients in the soil and is a perfect rotation crop for corn and beans. It doesn't make much sense that we don't grow it here. China is the largest producer of industrial hemp on the planet(and we are their largest customer), yet their drug laws are far more strict than ours are. Apparently, unlike our gov't, they see the obvious difference between inds. hemp and it's intoxicating cousin. Funny though, the feds subsidized hemp growing during WW2 in order to provide enough rope for war ships.

You might want to check out the Henry Ford hemp car also. Henry was a Tea Toddler, didn't like intoxicants, yet he designed a hemp car that runs on ethanol. lol
