I use 1ml (Amazon) for most of my flavorings. As to the "bubble" in larger syringes, try drawing in a small amount of air before drawing in the liquid. Now instead of a bubble, you have an air pocket so the liquid is not touching the plunger. Too much air and you won't be able to draw in liquid to max measuring capacity. Too little air=bubble.
Exactly what I do other than I mostly use 3ml syringes for flavors. Have a bunch of 1ml syringes with micro needles too. They are OK for 5ml test batches and their smaller flavor percentages, and for additives that are so strong or critical that being off a little is less desireable. But the 3ml syringes are often one-shot for flavors in my 30ml batches, the 5ml syringes for much larger batches.
