A note of Caution!!!

Other fevers can contribute to MMF

At first I thought MMF was curbing my computer mod fever only to find that when my dad asked me to build him a new computer I started looking at computer components and how I can mod them.

I have already decided to make a permanent VV PV attached to the 12V rail of my main computer with a holder attached to the case.

Wonderful! I had the exact same idea for a VV PT on mine. The idea came to me while replacing my PSU.

Dear i think i found a cure,

Let me be blunt,,,,,,,, NO !

An empty bank account really only exacerbates your problems. Not only do you have sudden on sets of symptoms, Now you have no means to relieve them. You won't even have the required three 510 atty connectors in your pocket because you used the last one last week.

Dear Gummy,

I'd like to submit myself for a case study...
I'm having all these awesome ideas for mods -- nothing in my house is sacred!
[BUT]
I have zero knowledge of vapetronics and the math skills of a, well, Big Fish.
I have a dreadful feeling that I'm going to blow myself up when I try to wire my passthrough to the tone pot on my Fender...
Cool idea tho, eh?

Any suggestions to get me started?

Dear What does it mean,
As best we can tell in stage 2 you will only loose your mind if you don't get a lathe. ( this is providing you had one to Begin with).

And as for images of little gummys everywhere,,, That is just a passing thing. They will grow up and find jobs and move out on their own before you can say " You mean that was 20 years ago".

Dear submit myself,,
Be careful, You can burn your fingers, cut yourself, blow your self up, set the house on fire,,,, and poke an eye out. Not to mention drive your friends crazy talking about mods. It would be best to just stay here on the forum and learn how to mod 1st. It could be that you don't actually have "Modumust Fever: (yet). You could just have a case of PV envy. or mod horder's syndrome (MHS).

OK, I've lost my mind. I can accept that.

After my first 5v mod it's all been downhill. I've spent hours pulling apart old electronics components that were packed up in boxes at home or purchased from thrift stores scavenging for juicy parts. cd burners, pdas, cell phones, dsl modems, camera flashes, 12v chargers, dvd players, old RC stuff, etc. Now I've got a big selection of ics and datasheet pdfs and a breadboard sitting on my dinning room table by the laptop. In the mix are a soldering iron, variable volt dc power supply adapter, and a box of resistors, capacitors, leds, diodes and switches from RS.

Diagnosis=?

I've got it bad. BTW there is an electronics supply store in my neighbourhood that I could go and get the appropriate ic and parts for under $10 at any time. Hope this helps with the diagnosis.

Dear lost my mind,
Your Diagnosis is easy, Late stage 1 "Modumust Fever". Rest assured the signs and symptoms that you have described are all normal in this stage and are easily managed. What you must do is try to keep from advancing into stage 2 or heaven forbid, an even higher stage. A great many people live with stage one for many, many years with only mild inconvenience. There have yet to be any reported cases of Modumust fever resulting in death. So it can (at this time) be said that you will not die BECAUSE OF Modumust Fever, But you may die WITH it.

Always keep the requires 3 blank 510 connectors in your pocket in case of sudden onset.

Good to be in good company. So diagnosis is identified, but not stable.

Gummy, the stash of connectors is placed strategically throughout the house- bookshelf, armoir, sun porch.

Stosh, take-out is my friend. And the bags give me a chance to clear away the junk parts I'm not keeping(not that the bags always make it to the trash).

Fun modding!

Dear in good company,

Now that you have yourself well cared for and your symptoms under control the rest is smooth sailing.
Just because we have Modumust fever does not mean that life is bad, Just the contrary,,, The life of a modder is a lot of fun. We see things that others don't. Like that electric toothbrush, flashlight, nose hair trimmer, broken cell phone,....
Ahh see life is good once you get your symptoms under control.
