You have to give them a little side eye.

LOL i know right? Every time I find myself in one of these situations I want to hit them, but there's that voice in the back of my head that tells me, "E-cigarettes will never be socially acceptable if the people who use them go around punching people in the face..." Like that guy that went all ape on the plane because they asked him not to use his e-cigarette. Did he really think he was helping the cause by acting like that?

Let's be honest. It is a lot of work vaping. Filling cartridges, cartos, dripping, etc.., is painstaking. Anything that is worth doing takes effort. The "easy & quick" things are usually those that are not always the best for us. E.g. fast food, smoking, watching TV, etc... I bet if it were as easy as "just quitting nicotine" at least 90% of us on here would walk away from vaping, too. Unfortunately, it isn't. Fortunately we have found a solution to our need to smoke, and we have quit something that was very bad for us.

LOL.. you know the oddest thing is.. the worst people I've met are ex-smokers. Now, don't get me wrong. I quit smoking cigarettes and moved to e-cig about 4 months ago. I kinda understand, I had both my batteries die on me, and my usb passthru quit working so I had to tap my "emergency pack" and, I found cigarettes quite nasty, this after 5 years of smoking.

Last night when I was at my clinical site there was this cow that said it's still smoking. I'm like you have no clue what you're talking about and I wasn't the only one that stuck it in her face. The woman we were working with told her there are 3 people at the site that vape and it's completely different than smoking. She said it still smells like smoke and the woman told her she's full of ...... I thought it was funny because I didn't have to say anything after that because a smoker was defending me LOL. The cow never smoked a day in her life and I have to say I think it's the non-smokers that are worse than cold turkey. Especially when they think they know it all and they lie about what they smell and make comments about something they know absolutely nothing about. I've had my fill of so many people in this world thinking they know it all.

I honestly want to punch those people in the face...smoke allergies? What fantasy world does that exist in?

Thats like saying you are allergic to liquids.

My kid is allergic to cigarette smoke, actually, its caused her to have seizures when she was a baby.

When I was going outside with a couple of my coworkers to vape while they had a smoke break , there was some interest with other smokers that worked in a nearby call center , during the conversation, one of them said they tried using an ecig at their desk and some psycho-coworker type complained that she was allergic to it, the vapor lady called her out and said if you have allergies then go move your desk over to the "allergy free" area ( which she stated no one sits at. ), and then something to the effect that the psycho was caught eating cake with frosting on it, and the glycerin in the e-cigarette is in the frosting, but was she allergic to frosted cake?? NOOOOooooo ...

I LoL'd.

I actually think that the "fiddle factor" helped me in quitting analogs. It was a great distraction for me to have when I started to get agitated or nervous.

Years ago I made a ceramic coffee cup with a ceramic cigarette .... in the bottom of it. Keep in mind, it looks just like a ..... When I served it to my SIL she actually gagged when she got to the bottom. Her mind told her that it was a .... so she actually tasted it. Guess it is the same with our vapor. The mind is a strange and wonderful thing.

I tried to not offend with my smoke, will do the same with my vape.

Yeah, after being nice, if someone gets even more rude with their questions/ comments... I generally smile super sickly sweet at them and reply "Oh hon, I am so sorry you continue to be so ignorant" and walk away.

Very rarely am I outright rude, but the few times I have had random people approach me and be openly hostile I wound up reverting to that. Made me shake though, I HATE being mean :(

"Looks like you're an ....... and not a doctor" will probably be something to put in my back pocket for later, I guess.

As if figuring out all the tech weren't enough of a hassle for people making the switch!

[Unless they are a doctor.]

[A little shaking is also normal when you get that mad; your body is getting ready to act on instinct. It sucks, but it's worth it to not back down when someone oversteps that far.]
