Here is a question, why isn't this thread on fire? The general apathy of the vaping community is starting to get to me.
Seems many people don't concern themselves with issues that could directly affect them until they are directly affected by them. Perhaps it is too inconvenient for them.
THIS thread is one that CASAA is NOT going to set on fire until there is something concrete. That's been said online and in meetings many times. The thread to watch (Please!) is the Daily Action thread. (I'm not speaking officially, I'm just a vanilla casaa member.)
The reason is that the fuel for the fire needs to be whatever the FDA puts out in writing and they ain't done that yet.
+100!!! Burns me up that the action alert sticky went stagnant, though I have seen micro coil and nano coil threads get 300 replies in a couple of days!To many are busy arguing about how much cotton to put in their coil and whether or not to drink the anti-freeze.
Ya gotta admit, it's much more fulfilling to comment on a thread where you can make a difference (ie nano coils and hardware and such) vs threads that deal with with propaganda and the FDA. The latter are like rolling the same stone up a hill over and over and over.
I write and get active, then i get discouraged and have to stand down cause it makes me crazy. I have a huge amount of respect for those who can keep their energy up in the face of willful ignorance...
and by the way Mr. Zeller.. the data are the data. Datum is singular. The data that you so willfully ignore are plural.
so, just another thought about data, specifically the idea of anecdotal data...
So, "they" say we can't talk about individuals, it has to be population effects, and individual data is all anecdotal and doesn't count. Yet, isn't the FDA adverse events reporting system anecdotal? i mean it's a list of effects that are uploaded on a person by person basis, that is: anecdotes.
Great point. I guess though they use the Data as they see fit. The 500 suicides at the hands of Chantix isn't population level, we will see how the adverse events posted on their website in regard to e-cigs is handled. My guess is it will be hypocritical to their point!so, just another thought about data, specifically the idea of anecdotal data...

Please PLEASE tell me someone got recordings of some of those things that were said by Zeller! Got URLs?
I've been trying for years to figure out a way to change that, but nothing has worked. But threats to the future of ecigs are compelling, and it worries me that more members aren't engaged.
I have, in the past, been extremely encouraged by watching the fights against local legislation develop around the country. Can only hope that more members *are* reading these threads and educating themselves than are speaking up about it...
