Of course it's a decent article. It's written by Dr. Brad Rodu, the author of "Scientific Foundations for tobacco Harm Reduction." He knows what he's talking about.

I left a comment:

I am happy to report that the FDA has listened to our complaints about the false statement on their Health Fraud page. They have changed the offending sentence to read, "To date, no tobacco products have met the requirements that would permit them to make claims of reduced risk or harm to users and nonusers of their regulated tobacco products."

These are the type of people I would love to see Speaking in front of the FDA. Or on a State Capital Senate hearing.

Wow, I was not aware of that. That seems to be an important development.
Am I naive to think I am starting to see cracks in the armor?

Maybe Fractures. But Fractures None the Less.

It seems our Biggest Enemy is Time. Or more precisely, Lack of Time.

Not to go Off Topic, but does anyone have any Guesses about when the FDA will make any Announcements?

I'm big on guessing !!
:p

I suggest the FDA won't be making an announcement anytime soon.
The White House administration doesn't want any more agency scandals
and the FDA knows if they try to come down hard on e-cigs ...
There will be lawsuits ... and I suggest there will be class action lawsuits.

We all know their target will be the liquids
and that subject has been beaten to death in tons and tons of threads.
Bottom line ... The FDA does NOT want to risk losing another lawsuit in court.
They are still debating how to regulate and not get their :censored: sued off ...AGAIN.

I suggest the FDA wishes they never even heard about e-cigarettes.

EDIT and PS
I suggest, at this time, the FDA is content with watching the state-by-state
e-smoking bans and tax fights.

I think that would work towards our Advantage.

Perhaps more "Experts" will come onboard to e-Cigarettes and publish more works like the author of the Atlantic Article.

At least I Hope so.

I would like to see them speaking on the steps of a state capital building in front of a phalanx of cameras and reporters who are paying attention!

Sometimes what it takes is someone to contact them and ask them to do just what you mentioned.

That, and sending them an Airline Ticket and booking a room in a Nice Hotel.

For really big fights I have offered to contribute to a hotel fund. Nobody every took me up on it. I also have a standing invitation if the FDA does its thing and we have to go to Washington -- most hotel rooms have a choice of 1 king or 2 queens, and any woman who can stand my snoring could have the other bed for free.

We *CAN* get more of this done if we think creatively.

I have seen you be Very Proactive and also Very Creative in the effort you put in CA SB-648. You should be Applauded.

Sometimes the Key is to find someone who is Passionate about a Cause AND has Credentials that Policy Makers will take notice of.

These are the type of people that many times will fly somewhere on there Own Dime because they believe in the Cause.

But those people aside, Many will write a letter or do a web interview or be a guest on something like Click Bang.

BTW - I wonder how hard it would be to contact someone like Dr. Rudo and talk with him One on One?

If you click Comments in the article you see that Dr. Rodu was accused (by a notorious ANTZ) of getting funding from smokeless tobacco companies or someone in the tobacco field. Now, that would be completely acceptable scientifically, but not politically.

I haven't done anything except get in line with 156 people to say "opposed" -- the guy whose coffee I went to voted "aye".

I agree with you about needing a credentialed expert, though they managed to ignore an addiction specialist that testified to the Senate Health Committee. But failing that, we need NUMBERS so recruit family and friends. Tell them you'll smoke on their porch if the ANTZ win!

Yeah... Like an ANTZ Group never took any Monies from BT or BP. Heck many of those so called "Citizens" Groups are meer Strawmen of BT and BP

I think you are being Very Modest.

I might not post much anymore in that CA SB-648 Thread. But I watch it Very Closely. You have made an Outstanding Effort to have your voice Heard. And to Help others do the same.

Yeah, I have been having a running debate with some guy named Jon Krueger about what information publishers want in Declaration of Interest sections.
