So I got my first starter kit today aI rode with my friend to the love's store down the road for a sub. I had become so comfortable with vaping in my own dorm that I almost pulled out my PV and started vaping at the sandwich line! I thought it over and decided against it. There were quite a few people in the store buying cigarettes and I was so tempted to just vape away so they would ask me about it and it'd give me a reason to tell.

Soon enough e cigarettes will become so popular that almost everyone will know what they are.

I'd prolly have done it. No different than an Arby's line to me. I vape almost everywhere, and almost all the time. If I hear objections, I just put it away. JMHO

I think you shouldn't vape in a food store unless you get an OK from the manager ahead of time. I work at a krispy kreme and if I ever had anyone ask me I would say while I would love to say yes go ahead, its just not the right environment for it. If it was a bar I'd be totally fine with it, but there are too many parents and people who would complain because they don't know what it is for our store. If you ever came in and had more then just a mall unit I would give you some free donuts though and talk about it with you. I think you made the right choice not to just vape off plumes, if you stealth vaped that would be fine also. I have stealth vaped in the store on my days off while waiting in line before.

As much as I love vaping in public, I would have to agree. We are not trying to put anyone off before they even know what it is we are doing. I openly vape in the mall, but not at the food court or in the individual stores (unless I ask).

I usually like being left alone. If I can wait a few minutes, I'll do it just to avoid all the questioning.

I vape in public, just not right next to other people. I'd be aggravated if some lady started spraying on perfume while I was standing next to her in line. Ecig vapor can be aromatic, too. Not everyone wants to smell your Wyatt Earp in a checkout line.

I would have pulled out my PV and vaped away. The more people that see it the better. It's good to get that out there.

I vape at my desk at work, I share a room with four other guys, they are all cool with it. And I don't have to stop working every 2 hours for a smoke break. I have vaped inside restaurants and stores subconsciously, its just become part of my lifestyle. But I vape very differently from how I smoked. Giving how expensive cigarettes got, once I lit one, I was committed to finishing it. Most of my vaping is 2-3 drags and done. When I am at home/relaxing I will have an extended vaping session. I haven't gotten a lot of grief about it, curious looks or questions occasionally. I vape an Icon mod, so until the vaper comes out, its not mistaking for a cigarette.

I'm on day 12 and I still haven't tried anywhere in public yet - got lots of good advice and opinions from people and when I do pluck up the courage I'll choose either a resteraunt I've enjoyed a meal in, or a pub/bar/etc.
Personally I don't think it should be used around food preperation so I wouldnt do it inside a small cafe or near a counter, just because people could moan that your flavourings are going on their food being prepared and how would you argue otherwise?

A resteraunt is a different matter IMO, you've paid for a table and thats your private space, and I love to vape after a meal.

But I do hate how nervous some of us are (especially me!) about doing something that is COMPLETELY LEGAL! - I understand that it would also be legal for a proprietor to chuck you out so its like one legality battling another, best advice I've had is to ask first politely to get them on side. PS - day 12, no fags, no cravings, just vape and I've been SO happy its amazing, vaping ROCKS!

I don't think I'd vape in a line, or queue, whichever you prefer, unless it was outside and a sideways breeze was blowing. That's too much like dumping on the cologne/perfume, then standing in an elevator or other enclosed space with others who may not share your taste in fragrance. (And where are the laws and regulations about that?)

I look at it like smoking a cigarette, and there are places and situations where I wouldn't smoke, and in many of those I won't vape either. Laws and regulations be damned, there are situations or places where lighting up is not polite, regardless of the "legality" of it.

At a table in a restaurant or tavern with friends/family, after asking management, by all means, I say and do vape away. One of my pool teammates still shakes his head every time I blow out a big cloud of caramel-chocolate vapor and comment on how well it complements a nice dark beer.

I do completely agree with you, and like the sound of your friends! The shame of it is though that we shouldn't have to look at it as like smoking a cigarette - its the healthy legal alternative and we should be able to vape in everywhere from strip clubs to a judges house without fear

you know I haven't been on here that long, or vaping that long (day 13 yay!) - but I am so in love with this I shout it from the rooftops. I get so excited I sign off my posts with "Love to all!" because I really do love all you fellow vapers! I want everyone to know about this and I want to hug all the people that have already converted and saved their life

PS - I'm in UK and I don't see PV's at all in public, I had a business idea for a Vape Friendly Pub - properly advertised with signs on the walls everywhere, people really miss being able to sit with a beer and a puff, so sit with a beer and a vape! Could sell them behind the bar to newbies and have a "golden vape corner" where all the serious vapers sit and could give advice to newbies. I love the idea! I don't even want to keep it secret and patent it or whatever because if someone else read this and does it 'before me' then we'll all benefit anyway! Wish I had a spare 200k!

For myself, E-Cigs have a bad rap in the press right now as it is.

The selling point to me was never ever because you could use it where you cannot smoke.

So.. I treat it exactly like a cigarette, and around others that smoke.

I go outside, I don’t vape at my desk at work, I would not think of pulling it out in a non-smoking area.

The last thing I want to go is get the rabid-anti-smokers all screaming upset up at E-Cig folks.

And another interesting result of that, is the people that could benefit the most from this ( other smokers ) are the ones I end up using this around.

Has started a lot of interest

Granted I am very new to this... but that is my take so far
