I have decided to use the boil method for cleaning my carts and hoping this will be the best way to clean them and still keep them lasting as long as I can. I don't have alot of money to be putting into carts every week so I would like to know the best drying method. I have heard the dryer, baking and air drying. I don't want to over heat them in the oven, the oven sounds scary to me and I might screw them up knowing my luck.
I am going to use the boiling method from a video I saw about boiling for 15 mins and then rinsing and boiling again for 15 mins. I just am unsure about the different types of caps fitting back on when I have a mixed of hard and soft ones. I prefer the hard caps but I am not complaining by any means.
Opinions on this and also if you are baking or putting your carts in the dryer do you still blow them out? I have some I have rinsed out then blown the water out of and they are still air drying after 3 days. Ugggg
This is the last thing in my vaping "plan" that I need to get set for.
Thanks!

I have an air compressor and used it to blow the cartos out after washing - seemed to work well. Other folks have had good luck in the oven at low temp (like 150).

I tried boiling some on the stove, and wasn't happy with what it did to the labels - they got all puckered up, as if they had chew marks on them. I think just pouring boiling water on them in a bowl or pan and drawing water through them with a large syringe is probably a better bet - Belletrist had a good write-up on her method.

Boiling? baking..omg like I don't have enough cooking and dishes to do!
For drying after I rinse mine out..I just put them on paper towels open end down for a day!

Air compressor my father in law has but I want to do it at home, but good idea :)
So Mary you just rinse yours in hot water? I did think the boiling method might mess up the labels and I don't want that. I just rinse mine in hot water and blow out the excess water and then dry them on a paper towel. But it takes up to 3 days to get mine fully dry. Mary does yours dry faster then that? You put the battery connector part up?
Thanks you guys!

LOL, I will take the clean one :) I am scared if putting them in the dryer would mess something up in there like the little metal wire in the middle? IDK!

Some ppl like it dirty .

It's just warm air. No different than using a blow dryer. Metal would only matter in a microwave and seems much safer than sticking them in the oven. I suggested the lowest possible heat to avoid shrinking but I doubt that's a factor anyway. But again, my idea is all theory. Haven't tried any method yet. Just seems logical to me.

I think you are right about both liking it dirty and the dryer :p

May I suggest a pair (or two) of old cotton gloves? Each finger sleeve will hold a carto. Bind them with a rubber band underneath so they don't go flying all over your dryer. Also works to remove excess water from cartos after a wash. A super reverse Taryn spin, two gloves, ten cartos. Just do it outside. :p

I give them 3 good blasts of air with a turkey baster to remove exess water.
Then
I just set mine in front of a small desk fan to dry.
I place them on a hand towel so they do not blow away.
I lay them on their side, open end of carto facing the fan.
Go about my day, sometimes overnight.

I put them in the dryer one time. I won't do it again! I had them in a mesh bag and they banged together and messed up the labels big time. The only way it would work well is if you had a way to keep them completely separated. :(

...But was that the only problem?

I don't see how the labels could get messed up in the dryer. They seem more likely to get messed up during the wash process.

That's a good idea especially if jdvorr's issue is a real problem. otherwise I don't see why plain ol' socks wouldn't do.

I imagine if you just through them in with a full load of laundry that they'd be fine. A few little clangs here and there perhaps but otherwise they're so small and light it shouldn't be a big deal.

That was the only problem. If you can separate them it would work great. The edges of the cartos are very sharp & nick each other up a lot. I wouldn't have mentioned it if it wasn't a real problem. But, I suggest going ahead and trying it to see what I mean. Let me know how it works for you.

Ok that makes sense now. It's not that I didn't believe, just didn't see why or how they could get messed up by each other. Thanks for clarifying
