I decided to get my feet wet with DIY, so I recently ordered these things from ecigexpress:

Does that look like enough to get me off to a good start? I only vape 12 mg nic, so the 30mL bottle of 60mg seemed like a good place to start without having to buy too much. I've also worked with dangerous chemicals extensively in labs, so I'm not concerned about handling that concentration. I had been using a 60/40 blend of pg to vg, but I figured for simplicity sake it would be better to order the base juice in a 50/50 blend and just get the nic in 100% PG. Should be close enough? I was kind of guessing with the flavors, mostly ordering ones I had tried from other companies and a few other things to try. Is there any other stuff I should be ordering next time around? I didn't get any empty bottles because I have a ton of old ones I've been saving.

Like Hoosier already mentioned... Grab some Ethyl Maltol (cotton candy) and MTS Vape Wizard. The EM will be needed to add some sweetness to your vape. The Vape Wizard will give a mellow mix a little more kick without adding any extra flavors to your mix. I would also add some caramel and vanilla to spruce up your RY4 a little... Plus caramel and vanilla go good with just about everything...

I will definitely suggest you to avoid RY4 flavors and do it by yourself (Peanut butter, Vanilla or French Vanilla, Caramel, English Toffee as well as the tabacco flavors: Virginia, Desert Ship, Dark Vapure, Tabacco extract etc) and maybe you would like to add some other tabacco flavors to your list too... but that depends on what you're trying to archive.

I also add Bitter Wizard and AAA Mask to my list of flavorings, and I use them in a few recipes to give an additional kick (AAA Mask) or to remove its sweetness (Bitter wizard).

Just be careful to not end up with alot of flavors that you do not like :D

I don't see any empty bottles... You will need lots and lots of those, so I hope you already have them or have another source.

And syringes for measuring. At least 1 ml (at least a handful) and 10 or 20 ml. A few in between can be handy too (2, 3, 5 ml).
Needles are good too, for getting stuff out of bottles with the least mess.

Hi frequentj,
I am in awe I just did my first order from ecigexpress and it was $125. That was just Capella's flavors, all the wizards, some menthol crystals, and some EM. My order from MyFreedomSmokes was more (yikes) $166, 1 liter of 60mg pg based unflavored smoke juice, 1 liter of pg, 1 liter of vg, graduated cylinders, beakers, pipettes, syringes, RY4, M-type, and Tobacco, flavors from the Flavor Apprentice. OH but I wasn't done yet, another $36 to Pure Vapes for a sample of all of the Flavorart tobaccos. And just in case a $54 order to my regular juice dealer in case it takes along time to get this DIY thing down. As you can see I am not in this to save money...I just live in a out of the way place and there is no option for just going out and getting some juice. My favorite juice vendor sometimes has some shipping, stock, or whatever problems. We will have to keep in touch to share our successes, failures, and tips. My first tip: I am going to mix a small amount of my flavors in water to try them out before ever mixing them. Thank you to the forum for that one!!!
May All Your Juice Be Vapeable!!!!

I have a TON of bottles I've been saving. I did order the little funnels and pipettes to help with the transfer to a small container!

Edit: I also have lots of the syringe tubes for dispensing baby medicine that are no longer in use, so I thought I'd use those, and I have one of those "needle nose bottles" I got for filling my vornado that might do double duty. I'm sure I'll find out lots of other stuff I need eventually, but $65 seemed like a drop in the bucket compared to what I am getting so far!

I was looking at the ethyl malitol, but I thought that was also something I could possibly pic up at the store in the dietetic section? Also, I wasn't sure if a few of the products might be the same as adding vinegar to the juice. I've been following that thread with interest.

I haven't had any luck finding EM from a local source. EM is a type of sweetener used to give body and round out flavor, I don't know of anything that would replicate it's use.

I tried to only order small bottles of the flavoring I wasn't too sure of, but there were a couple of flavors I recognized by name to be ones I had ordered from other places (zen garden, liquid amber, hypnotic mist, etc). The reason I picked up the bottle of RY4 that I did was it had the same logo as vaporbomb's ry4, so I was wondering if it's the same, and vb's r4y is different from any other I've tried, so I'm hoping it will be the same flavor. I do need to add some bitter wizard and the aaa mask later on. Seems like the additives like that are what really allow you to customize your juices.
