About 6 for the first charge, I do mine overnight so not sure about after that, but I've heard it takes 2-3 hours after the first charge. :)

thanks

I was wondering if I should be charging it on it's own or with the battery in it and if that makes a difference?

I have the battery in the PCC

Regarding the battery, does the blue light indicate that the battery is fully charged?

Cheers

I don't think it matters whether you have the unit in the PCC when charging. The blue light when on indicates that the battery is charging. When it turns off it's ready to go.

I know I was very impatient after 6 hours on the first charge, and just about when I though the thing was a POS the green light came on. :p

Yes I'm a little impatient to try it out but it's no big deal. I was just concerned I might have a dud .

If the PCC is plugged in and turns green (charging finished) and you put in a spent battery (even if the PCC is still plugged in), the green light will go off and turn red while charging the battery. It seems that the electrical current to the PCC from the USB cable is NOT a pass-thru to the battery...just saying.
