I have researched A LOT here on ECF for a first pv unit.
It comes down to a fixed volt E-Go for little $... or an all out VV mod unit for $$$.
E juice is a whole other deal! LOL

I like the E-go single volt battery for a start up.
Low volt, low ohm seems attractive. Good vape for the $
But I read great reviews about VV units. High volt, high ohm = great vape, right?

Please nudge me either way. All responses are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

hi mahem, you have done your homework correctly, all i could say about moving into the world of v/v or v/w vaping is,how much do you want to spend ? If you are like me;and many others you could try a knockoff version quite cheaply with one of these cheapest, stainless steel, vv-350 ecig on the internet, that is the road i took, twice actually;cos you need a spare LOL.I have spoken to other members on this site who also use these and for the price, they are a great piece of kit...Decisions Decisions,

Good luck on your Quest, oh and i believe you can get them in the states as well.

I started with standard Ego batteries, but went immediately to the Ego Twist. I find variable voltage to be important. You can change the voltage depending on the resistance of the atomizer you put on it. With the standard battery, I find only low resistance devices to vape any good. Different juices also taste different at different voltage. If you are a tinkerer and think you will get into rebuildables, something with an ohm checker and short circuit protection is a must. I have a VV Gripper and a Lavatube for this, and they both take the same 18650 batteries. The VV Gripper is pretty cheap at $35-$40 plus batteries and charger. I also have a Vamo, mentioned above, on the way. If you can wait the 2-3 weeks for shipping, $29 or $33 for a kit at the link below, for a mod with great reviews is a great deal.

Ego style battery mods are not cheaper you have to buy at least 2 once a year and sooner or later you are in the hole. If you like the unregulated battery stuff there are several very well made mechanical mod out there. You could get something that incorporates the kick and have both.
Most of the chinese cheaper mods are not worth the money. They don't last they are calibrated poorly might as well spend the money and get a well made solid product. It will last and has better performance.

I saw the Gripper and was interested until I read the reviews. Most plastic box mods are deficient in quality construction.
I want hardware!!! Metal for my $$$. $50 to $60 bucks seems steep for a plastic box mod. IMHO.

Totally agree, the VV Gripper is cheaply made, crappy plastic, wobbly 510 connector, and a battery door that is prone to breaking. But I love the form factor that fits in the palm of my hand. I've gone through 3 Lavatubes, though, they're all metal and heavy as a baton. But my first had crappy 510 threads and I couldn't screw anything onto it. The second's circuit board went bad after a week. These were both Youngjune v2's. The Lambo 4 I have now is constructed much better. Just be aware that $60 sometimes just buys a heavier paperweight.

I say Ego first. I realize that you are doing your research, which is the key to getting something great. But you always need a back up. Forget to charge your bats, loose it in the couch, friend wants to try it, ect......This way after you get used to a simple clean design you will have continued your research(I think you truely will do this) and have found just what high end PV you realy want. I got my Echo's which are as simple as you can get. Never looked back.

Found this today, look under "sale"- E Power Starter Kit=$23.00. at [smokerevolt.com] Research this, may be a possible cheap intro, and you can buy any number of brands of batteries to fit inside. You can buy just the parts you need if something were to break. Just a thought.
