So, after Christmas I'll be in the market for a back up device to my MVP 2. I had the intention of getting another iTaste VV v3, as I really miss it. My husband uses it now, and the only way I'll get it back is to pry it from his cold, dead, fingers. That and some Pink Spot Swagger in a Mini Protank II is his vape nirvana. I have yet to find mine, but the search is a ton of fun!

Anyway, now I'm thinking that if I have the opportunity to buy a new device, then why restrict myself to something I already have? Sure, the VV v3 is a great looking and great performing device. I probably WILL buy another just to have something in a smaller form to make it easier to do multiple things at once. That said, I also want to move up from the MVP.

I'm not ready for a mech mod, but I'm thinking I should go for something with removable batteries. I'm extremely pleased with Innokins products, but I'm curious on what others have to offer. It needs to be $150 or less. What would you get?

I am using my MVP 2.0 with great delight... but know this... it is a MUST that in many cases
I must use Thread on the CONTACT pins on a lot of various CLEAROMIZERs (see my blog) or they will not
work with the MVP 2.O's period... AND... in a lot of cases that includes INNOKINS own CLEAROMIZERS...
INNOKIN is at fault... in the manufacturing...

In the deep well where the CONTACT POST makes contact with pins of the tanks (clearos)
they have made that contact post absolutely FLAT!
INSTEAD of what should be an ALMOST impossible to see ...but just the same center post PEAKED...
Contact post that is... that deep well... ....instead it is perfectly flat...
And because of this... almost every single one of their MVPs at one time or another
CAN NOT make contact with many different clearomizers... unless the tip (or tricks I share are used)
Yes... you can keep pulling out the pin on different clearomizers... in order to make them work but the
MVP's ...sooner or later will just push them back and you'll have to keep doing it over and over...

Again.... Even INNOKINS own clearomizers... IClear 30's ... IClear 16's etc... many just will not work..
BUMMER!!!!!!

Never said I was buying another MVP. I already have one. I want an upgrade with removable batteries. I love the MVP 2, but if I'm going to fall in love with another device, I wan something that'll last years. At the end of the day, the MVP 2 is a disposable device. Granted, at $40 it's an absolutely wonderful disposable device, but it's still disposable. I'm sorry yours isn't working out for you. So far, I haven't run into a clearo it didn't work with. Maybe I got a version Innokin slightly improved? I know the button on the bottom of mine is recessed, so I did get the version they fixed that on. No wobbling.

I had that problem with my MVP, went to my local vape shop and they pulled the pin up on the MVP, not the clearos. (of course I checked the clearos too) Voila!! No more problems with any of my tanks.

I am so glad you got your MVP working the way it should... you bring
sweet smiles to my face... I do know - remember what you were going thru.
trying to make a simple Innokin IClear16 work...

Innokin ... should have made that possible in the first place.
This is the quiet problem most do not want to talk about.
And, if it is not taken care of ... people (we the buyers)
suffer.

It isn't that no one wants to talk about issues with Innokin. I just don't see what's wrong with those who are happy with the MVP 2 to mention that they're happy with it. Of course Innokin has made mistakes. I've heard of them, and I don't deny them. I just haven't experienced them, and I like my MVP2. I may very well purchase a Provari next. Who knows? Of course I'll buy something other then Innokin, especially an American made product. I was into vaping less then a month when I purchased the MVP2, and at that point it was all new to me. Wasn't sure I'd stick with it for years, so I didn't want to invest that kind of money for something that would last years. At $40, this was a nice, non threatening, inexpensive step up from an Ego type VV. In fact, it was such a nice step up and a way to learn about ohm law an volts and watts, that now I'm sure I WILL be sticking with vaping, and now I'm ready to buy a better product. The whole point of the post was to ask about other devices in fact.

When I started looking for a "backup PV" I wanted something that would still work even if hell froze over. (and the FDA may still make that happen) If you can't use your backup for a hammer and still vape it, it isn't a reliable backup. My choice was a Silver Bullet. ($85) Hard to believe that my SB is almost three years old, has been to hell & back, and still looks & works like new.

I would also ask; do you really want a bunch of the same PV's, or would you rather branch out a little so that you have some variety? You already have a nice regulated PV, why not see what a mechanical is like?

I'd rather learn more about battery safety before branching out to mech mods. I mean to eventually. Just with two kids, and being gone from home 12 hours per day, Monday through Friday due to my job and commute, I don't have the time to devote to leaning what I need to learn for mech mods quite yet. I also mean to learn a few things about DIY liquids. Eventually I'll get there. Just not yet.

I say spend the extra $10 and get a satin silver provari or provari mini. I'm stalking the mailman waiting for mine to be delivered right now. I swear my blood pressure is rising. It's getting late. Is he coming....sigh

My only concern about the Provari is how justifying the money to my husband. Maybe I should wait for my tax return to buy anything. If we've got a nice amount in the bank, he'd care a lot less. He's happy with his $30 set up, and doesn't quite understand why someone would spend so much on vaping, or the hobby aspect. Don't get me wrong, it's not as though I'm not allowed to spend my own money. It's just that, at this point in time, we're going through a bit of a rough patch with the finances, and without a certain amount in the bank, I'd feel guilty about it myself. We are still kinda financially reeling from Hurricane Sandy. We're on Staten Island, and the beach front catering hall my husband worked in kinda got washed out to sea. Unemployment was no where near what he made, nor has he found another job that offered what he made as of yet. He's working now, but at half the salary. It sucks.

Nice of you to remember, OldSeer!!! Sure was a load off my mind! Certainly not into replacing 2 MVP's at this time!!
