Those Amazon bastages! This morning, when I posted about the Captain Phillips movie, Amazon was only charging $2.99. Now this evening, when I actually go to earn it, they want $3,99!
Wish they'd let us buy the movies in HD this way.
I get a kick out of the one "Feed the Pig" commercial. The guy shows up with a BIG ole pizza box, clearly not from one of the pizza chains, so ya know it's big and good. Then he asks for $5.47?
I'm thinking I need to move to wherever those people live!
And I don't know what to make of the Smokie the bear one. Every time I see it I can't help but think there's some sort of racism going on. But they don't supply enough info to put my finger on it.

I've thought of that. The first thing I think is "it's racist for the black guy to be mistaken for a bear." But the flip side of that is to say that the agency should only hire white actors for that part or they will be perceived as racist. And not hiring him because he is black would be racist.
If they're not racist, they hired him because they like his vocal inflections or body language. If they are racist, the hired him because Smokey has dark fur and he has dark skin.
Lose-lose.

Dad called at 6. He had been trying to Skype my sister who is in Venice on business. Maybe he was doing it wrong.
I got his camera re-set up when I was there on Monday and learned how to Skype Nancy (my computer doesn't have a camera.) I logged onto his computer, explaining that it was midnight there and she was probably asleep. "So." I checked his Skype and she's offline. After about 4 rounds of my telling him that she probably turned the computer off when she went to sleep and his answering "Why would she do that?" I finally realized -- "She has a laptop. You don't leave those on all the time." I finally told him I'd email her and let her know he had called and he said "now I have something else to worry about."
He once called her at work, sure something had happened to me because he had been calling for 3 hours and I wasn't home.
He just called because he had two pieces to send to the editor of the community newsletter. I logged on. His documents folder was in alpha order which is why he couldn't find them. I changed it back to "most recent first." He said both pieces were ready. I opened gmail and we wrote a note about the revisions in one and new piece. I attached them. He wanted them in the wrong order so I deleted the first one and re-attached it. It was now second.
Then he wanted to open the new piece. He often does that because he doesn't believe the most recent version will go out. I knew it would because I had saved it and quit Word before attaching them. He looked at it and started making changes. I deleted the attachment, re-opened the original document and made the changes. When he said he was all done, I re-attached it.
Me: All done?
Dad: Yes.
Me: Ready for me to send them?
Dad: Yes.
Me. I'm going to send them now.
Dad: Okay.
Me: They're sent.
Dad: Now let's look at the poem.
Me: I just sent it.
Dad: But I haven't looked at it yet.
Me: I asked if it was okay to send it. You said yes.
Dad: If I make changes, can we get it back.
Me: No. We'll need to send her a third version.
We looked at the poem but didn't make changes. Miracles will happen.
