Starting with the 1964 World's Fair in NYC, when I managed to walk through every puddle in the entire parking lot and continuing when I carried a cup or a bowl of anything -- which I invariably sloshed all over the place -- my father took to reminding me to be careful due to the aqueous nature of the material I was dealing with. He would admonish "Liquid. Liquid."
Coming up in the elevator this afternoon, I realized that it's time to redefine that phrase. It's no longer a warning. It's a celebration.
And my celebration was delivered by the mailman today.

I learned the trick to that while in the Navy. Trying to carry a cup of hot coffee on a moving ship.
Everyone's natural impulse is to keep their eyes glued to the cup / bowl. But it's actually better to just look where you are going, straight ahead. It's not perfect, especially on a moving ship, but it is surprisingly better.
Speaking of liquid, I received my Mayan Apocalpse stash today as well. I've got juice upon juice upon juice. Don't even want to to try to figure a total. Prolly not as much as Poeia, but still more than want to think about.
