Im laying real low - im in here, in stealth mode.
To be frank, i find maneuvering in here next to impossible - well at least not till I get my PHD in navigation LOL

Hiya Jojo!!

So... I lit a FIRE in your soul?

it's funny... the way you feel about navigating here is the same way I feel about navigating FB!

 I'm w/you Deej... I'm nearly an IT type of guy, and can figure anything out, but navigating FB has to be the most convoluted thing...

Sonic, maybe you can explain why stainless steel birdcages are crazy expensive. Good luck with the kitty. (And now you don't have to worry about vet bills.)

Jojo, you cracked my code and figured out who I was talking about?
The way to navigate ECF is to go to "What's New?" at the top of the page and select "My Posts." You'll see all the threads you've posted in in the past and which ones have new posts since your last visit. And you never have to deal with the main forum page.

Deej, I can't navigate my page on Facebook, let alone anyone else's.

ETA:
Trav, and you've got at least 3 dachshund people in this thread. I've seen that dog before. In fact, I've spent several hours watching him again and again and again. So thanks for giving me something to do this evening.

Wish I could...I know that before my last job closed, s/s prices were rising, but by how much & why, I'm not certain. If I find out, I'll let you know though. :)

Or subscribe to the threads you like, and start w/newest posted each time. I like how there are different ways so each user has a way that's comfortable to them. :)

I'm with you and Deej on the FB thing, and I am an IT guy. What a cluster fark. Admittedly I barely use it, just set up a phantom account with no real personal info. Did it just to take advantage of some sales and coupon codes etc.

Sorry to hear about your kitty. I lost my little (at one time feral) buddy not too long ago to cancer. The vet gave him some sort of steroid shot that gave me about 1 more week of just about normal good times together. But by the end of that week I couldn't bear to see him the way he was getting and had him put to sleep. :(

Best of luck.

I use subscriptions for half a dozen most important threads. That's my home page when I click on ECF on my bookmark bar. I go to My Posts after I've arrived at the forum.

Speaking of dropping APVs, I'm in love with VV Grippers. The right shape for me and very light. If one of them now reads 9.9Ω, that means it's the one that I dropped (they all look the same,) it has shorted out and it is now garbage, right? Or can it be resuscitated?

I feel your pain there. Speaking of which, none of you techy brainiacs ever answered this question and I'm not posting it on the open forum. As JoJo points out, much too confusing. Someone will start with meters and measurements and I just want to know if I need to trash the thing.

Yeah he's got her on steroid pills now. Didn't think she'd do well w/surgical biopsy at this point, so it's an assumption as aspirated tissue was negative (though Feline AIDS was confirmed in bloodwork). But she has a couple of subcutaneous masses, and sleeps about 9/10 of the time. When she gets up and wants food, she's fairly energetic though, rubs on me, wants attention, and will purr and meow & knead... but not like she was. :( And now this new job w/possible travel for training for a few days in a couple of weeks. <sigh>

Mine wasn't eating or drinking well at all which was part of the problem. The cancer was in his abdominal area and kind of spread around.

I was so happy to see him pig out after the shot, and he had pretty good energy and was then getting around much better. But by like the 3rd day he was back to barely eating or drinking but still getting around.

They said I could get the shots weekly, but the shape he was in by the 7th day was horrible. So I didn't want to keep forcing things artificially. Dehydrated, confused, scared, could barely move on his own. It was time.

When I get home from work I always put down some fresh soft food. My other kitty still calls to him sometimes to come get some, after she gets her fill of course.

If it's showing 9.9ohms it would indicate that at least one of the wires came off somewhere between the 510 connector and the circuit board. So it also will not complete the circuit to heat your coil either.

It's possible it could be opened up and soldered back on I guess. But they're also only going for about $35 - $39 these days.

I've got 2 and I still love them. One's a little worse for wear. I may pickup another in the near future.

Oh and it's actually what we call an "open" (max ohms). A short would either fry your battery depending on where the short is, or just read 0.0ohms.

I'm giving her daily prednisone now. It's helping w/the appetite and such, as you said, but...well we'll see.

They're being discontinued. I have 8 -- 2 in use, 1 about to be trashed and 5 that were tested once to make sure they weren't DOA and then went back in their boxes. I guess one of those is about to become an "in use" one. The are a little fragile but they are a comfortable shape for me (which round PVs aren't) and they weigh so little. My only complaint is that I'm a lefty and I want to hold it with the buttons against my palm. Because the buttons don't lock, I sometimes change the voltage by accident. But I'm learning not to do that.
