Yay! I'm glad Kitty gets to live happily ever after. :)

Now I'm starting to get a little worried about Rocky. It seems he may have some sort of congenital hernia situation. Took me a while to notice / realize, but it seems part of his colon is external to his abdominal wall.

For now it doesn't seem to be an issue. He seems happy, healthy and very active. Not to mention growing like a weed. But it does seem to explain why he often lays with his legs in a weird position (compared to normal cats). I'm guessing it's to keep pressure off of the area.

As long as nothing changes to restrict the flow of material, it seems like he could go on just fine the way he has been. But I really have no idea. I plan to ask about it when I take him in to get fixed.

I'd find it hard to believe the vet wasn't aware of this when they gave him to me. But it could explain why they all seemed so excited that he was doing so well when I brought him in for shots.

I gained a dog for zapping a guy once.I was walking on the beach and witnessed the said guy drop kick a young chocolate lab for being, well, a young dog and jumping and running around.I walked up and dropped him. After a talk with the two officers I was let loose and privately thanked by the dog loving officers, the guy went to jail.I have the dog as of this day and she has been a great addition to the house. She is 12 years old now,she has to sit cockeyed because of the damage that was done but she is a happy dog and so are we.Why people abuse an animal is incomprehensible to me.

I originally planned, within the next month (when finances allow), to take him in to get fixed. I will ask them about it then.

If it's going to be a problem later on, I'm hoping I can at least guilt them a little into a discount on whatever treatment is needed. Since they gave him to me that way to begin with.

Perhaps I can talk them into a 2 for 1 sort of deal. While he's out for neutering they could perform a little abdominal surgery. Then I could pay for the neuter and hopefully put the other on a payment plan or something.

Is there anyone in your area that helps offset the costs of spaying and neutering? We've got a couple of groups that will pay 50% (including the humane society). If you could get that discount it might help towards being able to do other surgery that might be needed. If the vet is where you got the kitten from, can you call and just ask whether there is any record of a hernia for the kitten?

He and his sister were stray / feral when someone found them and took them to the vet. I'm pretty sure his record didn't start until I adopted him, but they know who he is and that I got him from them. Not sure how carefully they examined him, but they did delay my picking him up for a few days because they were treating him for worms.

Not sure if they would admit to knowing about it but I will ask. I could see it very easily being overlooked when he was just a tiny thing. I didn't notice it until he got much bigger.

There are many places that help if not outright do it free. Most vets do this some with "vouchers" from places that help.It depends on if they have enough funds for the month/each month (the places that help).Just google your home town/state for information. It will help you find places that do help.FWIW

There's always something to vote for (or against). :p

At least where I went there was about a dozen state & local officials, some with no competition even. But the bonus was the 4 state supreme court judges. It wasn't like they were running for office against anyone, since they're appointed. The questions were whether or not each should be kept on.

Got a couple more freebies, 2 games for PC a few years old.

GameStar offers keys for downloads of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands for Windows (pictured) and Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic for Windows for free. (Click on the game image and a key will appear that you can enter into your uPlay client.)

Clicking on the above links will take you to the German version of Ubisoft's Uplay website. If you click on the large image, it will give you a game key. Then if you go to the American site (uplay.com) you can use those keys to activate the games. A Uplay account (free) will be needed along with their downloader software.

Enjoy!

In NYC we got to vote for mayor, so it was important.

Some tend to be silly. We had one where we got to vote for up to four candidates for, I think, judges. There were 4 democrats running and not a single candidate in any other party.

ETA: According to cnn, there were only 4 races today -- in the whole country.
Governors for NJ and VA; mayor for NYC and congressman for the 1st district in AL. Seems like a lot of fuss for so few politicians.
